Fishing on the river, people caught a crocodile weighing nearly 40kg

A local was fishing on Cai Co River, near the border with Cambodia, when he caught a crocodile weighing about 37kg.

On November 13, Song Trang Border Guard Station (Hung Dien Commune, Tay Ninh Province) announced that it had just received a crocodile weighing about 37kg voluntarily handed over by Mr. Nguyen Van Chuyen (30 years old, residing in Hung Dien Commune).

Mr. Chuyen said that at about 9:50 p.m. on November 12, while fishing on the Cai Co River, near the Cambodian border, he discovered a large object caught in the net. When he pulled it up, he realized it was an adult crocodile with a long body and a weight of about 37 kg.

Realizing this was a wild animal, Mr. Chuyen proactively brought the crocodile to hand it over to Song Trang Border Guard Station.

The border guards received and coordinated with the authorities to complete procedures to hand over to the specialized conservation unit according to regulations.

A representative of Song Trang Border Guard Station assessed that Nguyen Van Chuyen's actions demonstrated his awareness of law compliance and responsibility in protecting wildlife, contributing to maintaining ecological balance in the border area.
