Tan Nhan releases album after 2 years of losing her voice

Singer, music doctor Tan Nhan has just released his first online DVD album called " Nguoi Ha Tinh co thuong" with 9 songs with the folk music of the Central region, praising the beauty of the people of this land.

Tan Nhan is back

The female artist, who is also the Deputy Head of the Vocal Department of the National Academy of Music, shared about the past two quiet, panic-filled years. During that time, she was so desperate that she thought about quitting singing soon and focusing on teaching, opening an art training center to continue her love of music in another way.

Not all audiences and colleagues can see Tan Nhan's despair, because in the past 2 years she has continued to sing, record, and was even honored by the program "The Road of Music" produced by Vietnam Television in March 2023.

"In my opinion, I have lost 80% of my singing ability, due to exhaustion after giving birth 2 years ago and having been infected with Covid-19 3 times," she shared.

During her pregnancy, Tan Nhan lost her voice and had a stuffy nose, especially after contracting Covid-19 during her pregnancy, her voice weakened and her breathing was not normal. After giving birth, she contracted Covid-19 twice more, so the hope of her voice returning became even more pessimistic.

But "Nguoi Ha Tinh Co Thuong" awakened her determination to recover her singing voice. Accidentally hearing her student sing the song " Nguoi Ha Tinh Co Thuong" on TV, Tan Nhan felt strongly moved, realized that she could not give up and give up, she had to sing again like before. Tan Nhan was determined to recover at all costs.

"When an artist feels inspired by music, it is a huge motivation, urging them to overcome everything to live with music," Tan Nhan shared.

The idea for the album Nguoi Ha Tinh co thuong was formed at that moment. However, this was also a song that took her longer to record than usual. She said she cried while singing because she found that things she used to do very easily, such as vibrato, technique, which made the musicians in charge of the studio "respect" her for recording super fast and effectively, were now so difficult to do.

"It's hard to describe how happy I am to have completed this album. It affirms my victory over myself, even though it's not completely the same as before, it has brought Tan Nhan back to music. That's why this album is so special in my career," Tan Nhan expressed.

Tan Nhan also invited 3 colleagues to sing together as guests in the album. "I chose the guests as People's Artist Quoc Hung, singer Thu Ha and Luong Nguyet Anh because of our love and harmony in music. In particular, People's Artist Quoc Hung is a leading chamber artist but participating in a folk music album is quite a strange element. People's Artist Quoc Hung sang a duet with me on the most important song of the album, " Nguoi Ha Tinh co thuong" , the singer expressed.

People's Artist Quoc Hung said: "The new arrangement of the song is a bit chamber-style, very elegant, and opens up many memories. When I listen to it, I remember the war years, the wartime stories my father used to tell. In Ha Tinh, we filmed at historical sites, such as Dong Loc T-junction, where 10 heroic young volunteers fell, which further increased the indescribable emotions in me when performing the song."

People's Artist Quoc Hung also said that although it was the first time they collaborated, he and Tan Nhan sang very well together. "Tan Nhan's voice is quite rich, clear and hearty when performing the work. Tan Nhan also studied chamber music properly, so even the way she took a breath and processed the lyrics of the song was very in tune with me," People's Artist Quoc Hung said.
