
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Nationalities Council Nguyen Lam Thanh said that recently, the Nationalities Council delegation had paid a working visit to Bulgaria to study and exchange issues related to ethnic policies, religion, social security, labor, employment, and social protection; contributing to promoting and building relations between the two countries' National Assemblies .

The Vice President of the Nationalities Council affirmed that the Delegation's visit was a great success, leaving many deep impressions about the culture, traditions and people of Bulgaria.
The delegation paid a courtesy call and met with the President of the Bulgarian National Assembly, Natali Kiselova, and worked with representatives of the Bulgarian National Assembly's agencies such as the Committee on Direct Citizen Participation, Complaints and Relations with Civil Society, the Bulgarian Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, the Bulgarian-Vietnamese Parliamentary Friendship Group, etc. The two sides shared information on legislative work, especially the monitoring and accountability mechanism of the Bulgarian National Assembly, development policies in the mountainous regions of Bulgaria, and policies towards ethnic minority communities in Bulgaria.

Ambassador Pavlin Todorov welcomed and highly appreciated the results of the working trip of the Nationalities Council; emphasizing that Vietnam and Bulgaria have a traditional friendship, built and developed over the past 75 years. Bulgaria is one of the first Eastern European countries to recognize and establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam.
The two sides expressed satisfaction and appreciation for the development in Vietnam-Bulgaria relations in recent years. The two countries have built and developed a traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation on the basis of trust, equality, and mutual respect, for the benefit of the two peoples.
Notably, during General Secretary To Lam's official visit to Bulgaria in October 2025, the two countries established a Strategic Partnership to bring the bilateral relationship to a new level on both bilateral and multilateral levels, strengthen and consolidate existing bilateral cooperation mechanisms, as well as promote the formation of new mechanisms to deepen cooperation between the two countries.

On that basis, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Lam Thanh emphasized that Vietnam and Bulgaria still have a lot of room for cooperation and development, especially in the fields of high-tech agriculture, health cooperation, bringing Vietnamese workers to the Bulgarian labor market in the fields of agriculture, construction, promoting tourism, and people-to-people exchange between the two countries...
Ambassador Pavlin Todorov also said that Vietnam and Bulgaria still have a lot of potential to promote comprehensive cooperation in the economic, cultural and social fields; he hopes that in the coming time, the National Assembly of the two countries and the Friendship Parliamentarians' Groups of the two countries will continue to strengthen cooperation and exchange legislative and supervisory experiences.
