Creating new momentum, elevating the relationship between the two Parties and two countries Vietnam

On the evening of December 12, within the framework of the visit to Vietnam of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping and his wife, Comrade Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Commission, held talks with Comrade Thai Ky, Politburo Standing member, Secretary of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Office of the Communist Party of China.

The two sides expressed their delight at the excellent results of the high-level talks between General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and General Secretary andPresident of China Xi Jinping, especially the fact that the two leaders reached important common perceptions on viewpoints, principles, directions, and major measures to continue deepening and enhancing the relationship between the two Parties and two countries in the new period; demonstrating the great vision and high determination of the two General Secretaries on the importance and good prospects of the Vietnam-China relationship.

Comrade Truong Thi Mai and Comrade Thai Ky once again affirmed the important, substantive and comprehensive progress of the relationship between the two Parties and two countries in all fields, especially after 15 years of the two countries establishing the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership; believing that together with the visit to China by Comrade General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the end of 2022, this visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President Xi Jinping will create new important driving forces, constantly deepening and elevating the relationship between the two Parties and two countries to be increasingly comprehensive and substantive.

Comrade Truong Thi Mai affirmed that Vietnam considers developing relations with China a top priority and a strategic choice in its foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification, multilateralization and the "4 no's" defense policy.

Comrade Thai Ky reaffirmed that China considers Vietnam a priority direction in China's neighborly diplomacy; supports Vietnam in promoting a greater role in the region and on the international arena, and raising the voice of developing countries in resolving international issues.

The two sides had in-depth discussions on the situation and relations between the two Parties and two countries; focused on discussing key directions and measures to thoroughly grasp the high-level common perception on the relations between the two Parties and two countries in deepening and elevating the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, building a community with a shared future, striving for the happiness of the people of the two countries, the cause of peace and progress of humanity, in accordance with the UN Charter and international law.

The two sides agreed to promote the strategic orientation role of the Party channel; further strengthen high-level contacts; further improve the effectiveness of Party channel cooperation mechanisms; strengthen exchanges and sharing of theories and practices in Party building; continue to further promote exchanges and cooperation on the channels of the Government, National Assembly, and Fatherland Front; strengthen defense and security cooperation; improve the effectiveness of substantive cooperation in economics, trade, and investment, connect the two economies more sustainably and deeply; promote the consolidation of a friendly social foundation for the good development of bilateral relations.

The two sides emphasized the need to make efforts to control and properly handle disagreements at sea, respect each other's legitimate and legal interests, in accordance with international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS 1982).

The two sides requested that sectors and levels of the two countries promptly grasp and implement the high-level common awareness, contributing practically to bringing the relationship between the two Parties and two countries to continuously develop stably, sustainably, and to a new height.
