- Reporter: First of all, congratulations to Nhat Linh and his team for winning the Championship at the Designathon 2025 competition. Can you share about the scale, rules and requirements of this competition?
- Nguyen Nhat Linh: Designathon 2025 is a UI/UX (user interface and experience) design competition for digital solutions with high practical applications. This is not just a simple design competition, but a gathering place for many talented young people from universities, academies and design communities across the country. This competition attracted more than 500 applications, of which 105 excellent candidates were selected to enter the official round. The candidates were divided into 15 teams, each team consisting of 7 members, competing together for 24 consecutive hours. Therefore, the difficulty of the competition lies not only in the topic, but also in having to face excellent, enthusiastic opponents.
The competition has a special requirement that each team must not only solve a practical problem in life but also know how to take advantage of the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve efficiency, creativity and applicability. This is the big difference of Designathon 2025, forcing contestants to have both deep design thinking and be quick with modern technology.
- Reporter: To meet the requirements of the competition, how did the team apply technological and creative thinking in the product?
- Nguyen Nhat Linh: The UI/UX design competition requires contestants to not only create beautiful interfaces, but also be responsible for providing users with a safe, understandable and humane experience. Therefore, when choosing the topic of fraud prevention to design the product, we determined that this was not only a design challenge, but also an opportunity to turn technology into a tool to protect people from increasingly sophisticated risks.

Therefore, the team combined the power of AI as a "silent gatekeeper", capable of analyzing data, detecting abnormalities and warning users early. On that foundation, UI/UX became the bridge, helping dry technology warnings to be transformed into clear, friendly and accessible experiences. However, that was just the idea, starting the competition with a requirement to be creative within 24 consecutive hours, requiring the effort and focus of the whole team. Therefore, every passing moment in the competition, the assigned members had to analyze and research to find the core solution to solve the problem.
I am in charge of researching the behavior of scammers to come up with a common psychological chain of victims. Then, if possible, I will intervene at what times to interrupt the victim's psychological circuit. The group's product will be an AI-supported application that will evaluate in real time every time a strange number calls, based on the scammer's scenario, and then issue warnings to promptly prevent damage to the victim. The product will also support users to report this scam phone number to the authorities for handling.
- Reporter: Having graduated with a major in Business Administration from the University of Economics and Finance in Ho Chi Minh City, why did Linh change direction to pursue her passion in the field of digital creativity UI/UX?
- Nguyen Nhat Linh: After graduating, because of my passion, I participated in many digital technology -related events to interact with young people who love UI/UX design. It was the experiences and listening to the sharing of those who have participated in this field that "sowed" me more motivation and knowledge to decide to register for Designathon 2025. And now looking back, I see this is the opportunity to open a great journey for myself to affirm my passion and go far.
Luckily, when I joined the competition, I was taught a lot of practical knowledge about UI/UX by my seniors. The competition opened up opportunities for me to observe and learn very new ideas from other teams, which helped me broaden my thinking on my design journey.
- Reporter: Can you share some of your future plans that make you determined to stick with this digital technology design career?
- Nguyen Nhat Linh: For me, UI/UX Design is not only a profession, but also a way to turn creative ideas into useful experiences for the community. In the future, I want to continue to research deeply about user behavior, learn more new technologies, especially AI to create digital products that are both smart, close and humane. What makes me determined to stick with this profession is the belief that every good UI/UX Design product can make life easier, safer and more beautiful. And I want to spend my youth contributing to creating such values.
I understand that in Quang Tri , young people still do not have many opportunities to approach creative technology professions such as UI/UX. But I believe that opportunities are always open to those who truly have aspirations and dare to take steps. I am just a student from a poor, windy countryside, starting to enter this field with a lot of confusion. However, it is curiosity, the spirit of learning and the will to not give up that have brought me to today's journey. Technology and creativity do not distinguish whether you come from a big city or a small countryside, the important thing is whether your heart is passionate enough and your hands are ready to work or not. If you nurture your aspirations and persevere every day, you will certainly find opportunities to shine.
- Reporter: In the future, how do Linh and his colleagues plan to develop this award-winning idea? Are they considering turning it into a real product and applying it to real life?
- Nguyen Nhat Linh: In the future, our team hopes to continue to perfect and test this idea, with the goal of gradually developing it into a practical product that can be widely applied in life. Hopefully, this will not only be the result of a competition, but also a solution with profound social meaning, contributing to protecting and improving the user experience in the digital age.
Therefore, we hope to have the opportunity to accompany businesses, organizations and interested partners to realize and spread this solution together, turning creative efforts into sustainable values for the community.
- Reporter: Thank you Nguyen Nhat Linh for this interesting conversation!
