Create a common voice in the business

After 6 years of implementing Directive No. 37, dated September 3, 2019 of the Secretariat on strengthening leadership and direction to build harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in the new situation, functional sectors and trade unions at all levels in the province have paid attention to promoting and building harmonious and stable labor relations in enterprises. The relationship between employees and employers has narrowed the gap, creating a common voice and limiting labor disputes and strikes.

Efforts to build harmonious labor relations

Identifying employees as the core and center of development, Sanest Khanh Hoa Beverage Joint Stock Company (Cam Thinh Dong Commune, Cam Ranh City) always cares about all aspects so that employees can feel secure in their commitment, contribute their efforts and intelligence to create quality products. In addition to fully implementing the regimes and policies on salary, bonus, insurance, safe working environment, the company also implements many benefits such as travel , entertainment, shift meals, birthdays, health check-ups... for nearly 500 employees. Ms. Doan Thi Ly, a worker at the company, shared: “Not only ensuring jobs and income, the company's leaders and the union always listen to the suggestions of the employees on building a safe working environment, evaluating and rewarding achievements... and resolve them very reasonably. Employees with difficult circumstances or sudden illnesses are visited and supported promptly by the company and the union. Thanks to that, we feel very secure in our work, always working hard to build the company to develop more and more"...

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son - Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs, implementing Directive No. 37, dated September 3, 2019 of the Secretariat on strengthening leadership and direction to build harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in the new situation, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee have issued many documents directing the implementation, dissemination and creating unity in action. State management work has been strengthened in a practical direction, focusing on key issues to be resolved. Each year, the functional sector organizes dialogue conferences, training and propaganda for about 1,000 enterprises on labor policies and laws; providing legal advice to about 1,500 employees. In particular, inspection and examination work has been strengthened. From 2019 to present, the whole province has organized more than 100 planned and unscheduled inspections and examinations on the implementation of labor law provisions. Thereby, 7 enterprises with many violations were discovered and fined more than 304 million VND; at the same time, they were reminded and instructed to promptly correct the violations.

Along with that, the team of conciliators and labor arbitrators has been strengthened, trained and coached to improve their qualifications to promptly resolve conflicts arising in labor. Many institutions for workers and laborers have been invested in and built such as: Suoi Dau Industrial Park Workers' Culture and Sports Center; Cam Ranh City Sports Gymnasium... Thanks to that, from 2019 to now, there have only been 2 strikes in the area (in 2019, 2020) and they have been resolved completely; from 2021 to now, there have been no strikes.

Unions join hands

With their role, trade unions at all levels in the province have made efforts to carry out many activities, contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations. Currently, the whole province has more than 560 enterprises with trade unions. To contribute to creating a common voice between employees and employers, trade unions at all levels have diversified the forms of propaganda and dissemination of labor law regulations. At the same time, they have focused on building a team of trade union officials, especially at the grassroots level, to meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation. In particular, trade unions at all levels have focused on innovating the content and methods of operation in the direction of being close to the grassroots and workers, grasping and listening to the thoughts and aspirations of workers to promptly resolve or propose solutions; strengthening measures to protect and care for the rights of union members and workers. Every year, the union coordinates to organize a dialogue conference between the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and union members and workers to resolve many issues regarding policies, employment, housing, vocational training, etc. Legal advice is also regularly provided to nearly 300 workers per year.

In addition, trade unions at all levels always monitor, supervise and require enterprises to fully comply with the provisions of the labor law. To improve the welfare of employees, the trade union has actively mobilized nearly 450 enterprises to sign and implement collective labor agreements with many beneficial provisions beyond those prescribed by law. At the same time, it mobilized more than 320 enterprises to provide shift meals with support levels from 20,000 to 50,000 VND/meal/day for 41,000 employees. Every year, trade unions at all levels also mobilize resources of more than 60 billion VND to take care of Tet for union members and employees. Many conflicts that arise are grasped by the trade union organization, approached to listen to employees and resolved right from the start...

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son said that in the coming time, the whole province will continue to effectively implement Directive No. 37 of the Secretariat. At the same time, well implement the tasks and solutions of the Project on Developing Labor Relations in the province for the period 2025 - 2030 issued by the Provincial People's Committee; strengthen state management, regularly inspect and examine compliance with labor laws; innovate the content and form of trade union activities in accordance with the new situation. All for the goal of development, ensuring harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations; not allowing labor disputes to occur...
