Nam Long Group proposes to build 20,000 social housing units in Dong Nai

At the meeting, a representative of Nam Long Group said that over the past time, the group has built more than 10,500 social housing units and affordable housing units for workers in Ho Chi Minh City and some neighboring provinces.

Implementing the Government's policy of developing 1 million social housing units, the group has registered to deploy 60,000 apartments from now until 2030. Dong Nai is one of the localities the group is targeting to achieve this goal.

“We propose to build about 20,000 social housing units in Dong Nai. The areas we are targeting are Nhon Trach district and Bien Hoa city,” the investor representative shared.

In addition, the group also proposed solutions to socialize social housing with capital from businesses and society; solutions for investors, state management agencies, and home buyers to motivate businesses to participate in developing social housing.

After listening to the proposal of the enterprise, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc said that in the period of 2021-2030, Dong Nai was assigned by the Prime Minister to implement the target of 22.5 thousand social housing units. The resolutions of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Council and the plan of the Provincial People's Committee set a higher target of 10 thousand units in the period of 2021-2025 and 50 thousand units in the period up to 2030.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and appreciated the group's interest in the province's social housing development goals.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Finance to preside over and coordinate with departments and branches to organize the assessment of the capacity and experience records of enterprises registering to participate in the implementation of social housing projects in an objective, impartial, public and transparent manner. Select investors with capacity and experience. After selecting investors, guide enterprises to fully carry out procedures in accordance with regulations.

Provincial leaders requested businesses to coordinate with provincial departments and branches to grasp project information according to planning, projects are preparing to select investors. Actively participate in developing social housing in the province.
