Training and fostering legal knowledge on corruption prevention and control and legal education dissemination

On the morning of July 13, the Thanh Hoa Department of Justice held a training conference to improve legal knowledge on corruption prevention and control and legaleducation for legal reporters at the provincial and district levels.

Attending the conference were Dr. Nguyen Tuan Khanh, Deputy Director of the Institute of Strategy and Inspection Science, Government Inspectorate; representatives of the Department of Policy Communication, Dissemination and Legal Education, Department of Dissemination and Legal Education, Ministry of Justice ; leaders of the Thanh Hoa Department of Justice; legal reporters from the province and 27 districts, towns and cities.

Dr. Nguyen Tuan Khanh, Deputy Director of the Institute of Strategy and Inspection Science, Government Inspectorate, delivered the topics.

At the conference, the reporter of the Institute of Strategy and Inspection Science, Government Inspectorate analyzed and clarified the contents of legal knowledge on corruption prevention and control in 2018. Decree No. 59/2019/ND-CP dated July 1, 2019 of the Government detailing a number of articles and measures to implement the Law on Corruption Prevention and Control in 2018; Decree No. 130/2020/ND-CP dated October 30, 2020 of the Government on controlling assets and income of people holding positions and powers in agencies, organizations and units and answering questions related to regulations on controlling assets and income of people holding positions and powers in agencies, organizations and units.

In which, the focus is on analyzing 12 acts of corruption, including: Embezzlement of property; Receiving bribes; Abuse of position and power to appropriate property; Abuse of position and power while performing duties and public services for personal gain; Abuse of power while performing duties and public services for personal gain; Abuse of position and power to influence others for personal gain; Forgery in work for personal gain; Giving bribes or brokering bribes to resolve work of agencies, organizations, units or localities for personal gain; Abuse of position and power to illegally use public assets for personal gain; Harassment for personal gain; Failure to perform, improper or incomplete performance of duties and public services for personal gain; Abuse of position and power to cover up for people who violate the law for personal gain; Illegally obstructing or interfering in supervision, inspection, audit, investigation, prosecution, trial and execution of judgments for personal gain.

Topics on 5 corrupt and negative behaviors, including: Large and widespread level; Complex nature, sophisticated and blatant tricks; Assets of great value; Many corrupt people holding high positions; Diverse behaviors, violating many "sensitive" areas. Conference overview.

Through the training course on professional knowledge of law on corruption prevention and control and professional knowledge of law dissemination and education for the team of provincial and district-level legal reporters in the province, it will contribute to improving quality, promoting effectiveness and efficiency, and performing well the assigned tasks.

On the same afternoon, the team of provincial and district-level legal reporters will listen to reporters from the Department of Policy Communication, Dissemination and Legal Education, Department of Dissemination and Legal Education, Ministry of Justice continue to convey topics on legal dissemination and education.
