Training on supervision, inspection and control of the implementation of the Law on Prevention of Tobacco Harms

On July 3 and 4, the Provincial Center for Disease Control organized a training course on monitoring, inspecting, and examining the implementation of the Law on Tobacco Harm Prevention and Control (PCTHCTL) for members of the Steering Committee for PCTHTCL of districts and cities; and inspection staff of a number of departments, branches, and units in the province.

Delegates attending the training course were provided with contents by experts who are inspectors of the Ministry of Health on: Legal regulations on implementing smoke-free environments, tobacco advertising and retail; legal regulations on inspection, examination of tobacco control and administrative sanctions; instructions on tools and forms for monitoring, inspection, examination of tobacco control and sanctions; planning for specialized and interdisciplinary inspection and examination of tobacco control; harmful effects of tobacco and the implementation of the Law on Tobacco Control at the local level on smoke-free environments, retail and advertising...

During the training course, trainees had a practical session of inspection and examination at the facility. After the practical session, groups presented the results and discussed lessons learned.

The training course was organized to improve the capacity of inspection officers of departments, branches and units in inspection and examination activities of the implementation of the Law on PCTHCTL in Ninh Binh province; promote the role of functional agencies in inspection and examination activities of the implementation of the Law on PCTHCTL.

At the same time, through the training course, trainees exchanged experiences and resolved difficulties and problems in the field of administrative sanctions for violations in implementing the Law on PCTHCTL.
