Focus on implementing 5 sustainable poverty reduction projects by 2025

In 2025, Phu Tho province sets a target of reducing the poverty rate to 3.88%; the near-poor rate to 3.47%. To achieve that target, the Provincial People's Committee issued Document No. 2126/KH-UBND dated April 29, 2025 on the plan to implement the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction in 2025 in the province. Of which, 5 major projects will be implemented to focus on completing the set poverty reduction target.

The projects include: Project 2: Diversifying livelihoods, developing poverty reduction models; Project 3: Supporting and developing production, improving nutrition; Project 4: Developing vocationaleducation and sustainable employment; Project 6: Communication and information poverty reduction; Project 7: Capacity building and program monitoring and evaluation.

The projects target children under 16 years old, women, workers from poor, near-poor, and newly escaped-poverty households, people with disabilities without stable livelihoods, individuals, groups, households in the collective economy , enterprises, poverty reduction officers, and related individuals and organizations.

The basic contents of the projects are training in production techniques, transferring the application of new science and technology; replicating initiatives and solutions for agricultural development associated with effective value chains; preventing malnutrition and malnutrition for children and women in poor and near-poor households; supporting vocational training and vocational training for low-income workers; ...

The program requires ensuring sustainable poverty reduction, not chasing after achievements, and the implementation process must be public and transparent with support sources. Funding for implementation comes from the central and local budgets and other legal socialized sources.

The mobilization of 5/7 projects of the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the 2021-2025 period approved by the Prime Minister demonstrates Phu Tho province's determination to reduce poverty in a multidimensional, inclusive, sustainable manner, limit re-poverty and new poverty, contributing to the completion of the province's socio-economic development goals for the 2021-2025 period.
