Thanh Son creates momentum to complete 5-year socio-economic targets

Thanh Son is a mountainous district located in the southwest of the province. After nearly 5 years of implementing the socio-economic development plan for the 2021-2025 period, the district's appearance has improved a lot, and people's lives have improved significantly.

Developed transport infrastructure creates favorable conditions for socio -economic development in Thanh Son.

In recent years, implementing the 5-year socio-economic development plan for 2021-2025 in favorable conditions, there have been many difficulties and challenges; being a mountainous district with a low starting point, the scale of the economy is still small, investment capital is still limited and has not met the needs of investment and development; enterprises in the area are mainly small-scale, product competitiveness is low; agricultural commodity production faces many difficulties, agricultural product prices are unstable; natural disasters, storms and floods occur frequently; the poverty rate is still high compared to the general level of the province... causing many obstacles to the production of enterprises and people's lives in the area.

In that context, the District Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee have led and directed communes, towns, and sectors to implement flexible and timely solutions, suitable to new developments of the situation; together with the efforts of the business community and people of all walks of life, the district's economy has remained stable and continued to develop. Specifically, the targets and tasks have been well implemented, ensuring progress, contributing to creating momentum for the completion of the 5-year socio-economic plan for the period 2021-2025.

Total social investment capital for 5 years is estimated at 9,109.9 billion VND, reaching 121%, exceeding the Resolution's target; budget revenue in the area by 2025 is estimated at 225 billion VND, reaching 132%, exceeding the Resolution's target; average income per capita/year by 2025 is estimated at 43 million VND/person/year, reaching 107%, exceeding the Resolution's target...

Implementing the breakthrough "Improving the investment and business environment to attract resources for development, focusing on developing infrastructure and industries, fields, and areas with potential advantages". The district has well implemented the policy of focusing on mobilizing resources, prioritizing investment, and accelerating the progress of many important infrastructure projects and works on transportation and industrial cluster infrastructure. In the period of 2021-2024, in the district, there were 167 enterprises, 15 cooperatives, and more than 1,600 newly registered individual business households with a total capital of over 300 billion VND operating in the fields of: Mineral exploitation, production and processing, trade and services, transportation, and construction, thereby creating jobs for a part of the workforce, contributing to promoting socio-economic development.

With specific development orientations, the effectiveness of tea trees on Thanh Son land has been affirmed, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.

From 2021-20225, the district's key projects were deployed, completed and put into operation, promoting efficiency and creating new capacity such as: Thanh Thuy - Thanh Son Inter-district Road Project (phase 1, phase 2); Investment project to renovate and upgrade provincial road 317D, section from National Highway 70B, Tat Thang commune, Thanh Son district to Son Thuy commune, Thanh Thuy district. Renovating, upgrading and building 245 km of roads. Building 255 new classrooms, 13 administration buildings and renovating, upgrading and repairing school buildings; renovating and upgrading 2.89 km of canals and building new and renovating 2 dams...

In particular, in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fisheries and new rural construction, continue to effectively implement the Project on agricultural and forestry development in Thanh Son district for the period 2021-2025, focusing on directing the development of 3 typical products into the district's brands: Black Crow Sticky Rice, Cam My Tea and Yellow Powder Banana; at the same time, continue to effectively implement programs and policies to support production development and key agricultural and forestry programs of the province.

Focus on guiding and directing the good implementation of crop structure, especially ensuring the area for planting summer and winter crops, increasing the area of ​​high-quality and specialty rice varieties, proactively developing crop and livestock varieties to ensure quality, quantity and variety... Continue to develop livestock farming in the direction of concentrating farms, protecting the environment, focusing on joint ventures and associations in product consumption. Replicating the fattening cow and 3B cow models in Son Hung, Thuc Luyen, Vo Mieu communes..., raising the rate of crossbred cows in the whole district to over 98%. Since then, a number of effective cooperatives and livestock farms have appeared in Dich Qua, Huong Can, Cu Thang, Vo Mieu, Thang Son communes...

A typical example is the French goose farming model of Mr. Kieu Tien Tam's household in the area of ​​Vo Mieu commune. In 2023, his family invested over ^1,000m2 to raise new breeds of French goose according to the farm model of over 1,000 birds. Mr. Tam said: "I import goose breeds periodically, female goose 70 days, male goose 90 days, in the form of raising in pairs, weighing from 2.7-5kg/bird, selling about 18,000 birds each crop, with a total revenue of over 2.2 billion VND. From raising animals, my family has a stable life, creating income for the people".

The French duck farming model of Mr. Kieu Tien Tam's household in the Vo Mieu commune area has high economic efficiency.

To create momentum for completing socio-economic targets in 2025 and the next period, Thanh Son district continues to direct the implementation of strong improvements in the business investment environment; mobilize resources to invest in building a synchronous socio-economic infrastructure system, especially key traffic infrastructure, industrial cluster infrastructure; urban and tourism infrastructure. At the same time, identifying investment in infrastructure construction as a breakthrough solution, creating conditions for socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, improving and enhancing people's lives.
