Green SM's competitive price advantage
Xanh SM is the name that has attracted the most attention on major social networking groups and forums in recent days. The first concern is that Xanh SM is the first pure electric taxi company in Vietnam, with a completely new way of transportation and good prices.
According to the company's announcement, Xanh SM offers customers two service options: GreenCar - standard taxi using VinFast VF e34, VF 5 Plus cars, and LuxuryCar - high-end taxi using VinFast VF 8 cars.
The opening price for the first kilometer of the GreenCar service is 20,000 VND. For the next 24 kilometers, the fare for the VF 5 Plus is 14,000 VND/km, for the VF e34 is 15,500 VND/km. From the 26th kilometer onwards, the fare is 12,000 VND/km for the VF 5 Plus and 12,500 VND/km for the VF e34. The price for the LuxuryCar service is fixed at 21,000 VND/km for the entire journey.
Compared to the fares of some taxi companies such as Mai Linh, Taxi Group, the fares of Green SM taxi clearly have a good competitive advantage when having the same opening price of 20,000 VND, but the next km price of GSM is lower. The average fare for the first 30 km of Green SM Taxi is also cheaper than the 2 traditional taxi companies mentioned above.

Compared to technology-based ride-hailing services, the price of Green SM taxi is also better when compared at the same time. For example, for a distance from An Duong Vuong to Tran Quoc Toan ( Hanoi ), the displayed fare for GreenCar service is 158,000 VND. Meanwhile, the fare for GrabCar is 163,000 VND and BeCar is 176,000 VND.
Experience the first 5-star taxi service in Vietnam
Comparing fares is something that anyone can do, but to be objective, it is necessary to compare cars in the same segment. SM Green Taxi is currently using a fleet of VinFast VF e34 cars in the C-SUV segment with spacious interiors, equipped with many modern technologies, most notably the ViVi virtual assistant. Therefore, it would be unreasonable to compare with car models such as Hyundai Grand i10, Kia Morning... that are being used by many traditional taxi companies.
If comparing the price list of technology taxis, GreenCar service of Green Taxi SM is equivalent to GrabCar Plus, instead of comparing with popular services like GrabCar.
Even when compared to the same segment, Xanh SM taxi still has the outstanding advantage of a pure electric taxi company. Xanh SM cars bring a different experience, no smell of gasoline, no engine noise, good for the health of users and protect the environment. In addition, there are many entertainment features, smart interactions, helping customers relax during the trip.
As a combination of traditional taxi and technology, Xanh SM has a great advantage with a team of carefully selected, rigorously trained, professional drivers, ensuring to bring 5-star service to users. In fact, with Xanh SM, right from the first days of launch, the cheerful, open, and enthusiastic drivers of Xanh SM have scored points with many passengers. This is the difference with technology car companies, which are only driver partners, the cars are mostly owned by the drivers, making it difficult to ensure 100% consistent service quality.
In addition, the number of cars on the first day of SM Green Taxi's launch to the market was relatively large with 600 cars, this number overwhelmed the number of cars of many traditional taxi companies and GrabCar at the starting point.
According to the plan, SM Green Taxi will continue to open in Ho Chi Minh City in April 2023 and plans to put 10,000 vehicles into operation this year in at least 5 provinces and cities across the country. Vietnamese users will thus have more opportunities to experience green, smart, and environmentally friendly vehicles, thereby gradually changing their travel habits in a more sustainable direction.
