Tay Ninh welcomes high-tech agricultural investment wave

This is a joint venture model between two leading agricultural corporations of Vietnam and the Netherlands.

Sharing at the meeting to give opinions on the proposal to expand the high-tech agricultural project in Tay Ninh, Mr. Vu Manh Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hung Nhon Group, said that DHN is mobilizing all resources, speeding up progress to inaugurate and put into operation, and at the same time starting a series of key projects in the second quarter of 2024, to welcome the 12th Congress of Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030.

According to Mr. Hung, DHN is currently implementing phase 1 of the DHN Tay Ninh High-Tech Livestock Zone project, including items such as: building a farm to produce breeding chickens; a farm to produce great-grandfather pigs; and a farm to raise broiler chickens for export.

Along with the livestock farm cluster, DHN also started building a food processing factory to complete the closed livestock farming chain.

Phase 1 of the project has a scale of over 39.5 hectares, with a total investment of 200 billion VND. This is one of the component projects of the High-tech Agricultural Complex chain with a total investment of up to 2,500 billion VND, which Hung Nhon Group and De Heus have committed to invest in Tay Ninh.

As the largest-scale key livestock project ever, the Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee expressed its interest in the project's progress. Recently, the Office of the Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 7756/TB-VP announcing the conclusion of Vice Chairman of the Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Chien at the meeting to give opinions on the proposal to expand the high-tech agricultural project of DHN.

Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee organized many working sessions with representatives of Hung Nhon and De Heus to find solutions to remove difficulties in land, resolve administrative procedures, and support investors in finding suitable locations for implementation in the next phase.

At the same time, the Provincial People's Committee has proposed policies and mechanisms to encourage investors to participate in implementing projects in the list of investment incentives in the area.

High-tech agricultural cooperation

Previously, during his visit and work in the Netherlands at the end of 2022, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met and worked with the senior CEO of De Heus and witnessed the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation and strategic partnership between De Heus and Hung Nhon.

Immediately after the Prime Minister's visit to the Netherlands, the two corporations realized their livestock development strategy by jointly organizing the "Forum connecting investment enterprises and developing the high-tech agricultural ecosystem in Tay Ninh province in 2023" on June 2, in Tay Ninh city.

At the Forum, De Heus and Hung Nhon signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the People's Committee of Tay Ninh province on surveying and researching investment in a number of high-tech agricultural projects in the 2023-2030 period in Tay Ninh with a total investment of about 2,500 billion VND.

Representatives of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee, De Heus and Hung Nhon signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in investing in a number of high-tech agricultural projects in the 2023-2030 period.

Then, on July 3, De Heus and Hung Nhon held the groundbreaking ceremony for the DHN Tay Ninh High-Tech Livestock Farm Project. At the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ngoc, Chairman of the Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee, assessed that the DHN Joint Venture started the project within just 1 month from the date of signing the memorandum of understanding, showing the units' capacity and dedication.

Mr. Gabor Fluit - Chairman of EuroCham and General Director of De Heus Asia said that Tay Ninh has a strategic position in the Southern key economic zone, easily connecting to the Cambodian market. This role will increase even more strongly in the coming time when the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway is completed and put into use.

“ With the capacity of De Heus, combined with the experience of Hung Nhon, Tay Ninh can boost agricultural exports to the European market and further become a leading locality in applying high technology to agricultural production ,” said Mr. Gabor Fluit.
