Japan stands alongside Vietnam in the new era.
According to information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , at the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man welcomed Prime Minister Ishiba's first official visit to Vietnam in his capacity as Prime Minister of Japan after the two countries upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Sharing his impressions of Vietnam's development since his visit 35 years ago, Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru affirmed that Japan will continue to be an important partner, accompanying Vietnam in the new era.
The two leaders expressed pleasure at the substantive development of Vietnam-Japan relations after nearly two years of upgrading to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership; they agreed to strengthen political trust and promote exchanges between the two Parties and Parliaments.
The Speaker of the National Assembly assessed that the Japanese Prime Minister's visit to Vietnam has opened up many new opportunities for cooperation in all fields.
Prime Minister Ishiba expressed his desire for the parliaments of both countries to strengthen exchanges and share experiences on organizing parliamentary elections.
The Speaker of the National Assembly proposed that the two sides strengthen cooperation in four priority areas: economy, human resource training, people-to-people exchanges, and local cooperation.
The Chairman of the National Assembly proposed strengthening economic linkages, supporting Vietnamese businesses to participate in global supply chains, encouraging Japanese investment in high-tech agriculture, renewable energy, and infrastructure; expanding high-quality training programs, student and labor exchanges, contributing to addressing the aging population issue in Japan and enhancing Vietnam's capacity.
The Speaker of the National Assembly also suggested that both sides strengthen cultural and tourism exchanges and close cooperation between localities of the two countries, and continue to pay attention to and organize Mekong Cultural Tourism Day in Can Tho city.

High-tech industrial cooperation, agricultural digitalization.
Prime Minister Ishiba affirmed that Japan will continue to support Vietnam's development through enhanced cooperation in high-tech industries, training high-quality human resources, and semiconductors.
He agreed to continue encouraging Japanese businesses to increase investment in Vietnamese localities, including Can Tho city; affirmed support for Vietnam in building infrastructure, responding to natural disasters and climate change, green transformation, and digital transformation based on leveraging Japan's strengths; and promoted cooperation in labor and training high-quality human resources.
Having previously served as Japan's Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Prime Minister Ishiba noted that the Japanese agricultural sector is facing many challenges; he expressed his desire for both sides to further strengthen cooperation in agriculture, including Japan's support for Vietnam in developing high-tech agriculture and digitizing the agricultural sector.
The two leaders exchanged views and agreed to strengthen coordination, share positions, and cooperate on regional and international issues of common concern; and to continue to coordinate closely and effectively in regional and global forums.
On this occasion, the Speaker of the National Assembly conveyed greetings, best wishes for good health, and an invitation to visit Vietnam soon to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan.
