Tay Son develops OCOP products associated with tourism
In recent years, Tay Son district has promoted the implementation of the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program in agricultural economic development, contributing to changing the face of rural areas and improving people's lives. In 2023, the district will continue to promote this program in the direction of linking OCOP product development with rural tourism exploitation.
In early 2023, Tay Son District People's Committee plans to call for investment in tourism, especially developing community tourism, striving to reach 300 - 350 thousand visitors and revenue from tickets and services at the site reaching 12.67 billion VND.
Mr. Bui Van My, Vice Chairman of Tay Son District People's Committee, said that the district is promoting the implementation of Action Program No. 06-CTr/HU of the District Party Committee to implement the Resolution of the 21st District Party Congress on developing and improving the efficiency of trade and service activities, developing tourism into an important economic sector in the period of 2020 - 2025. In 2023, Tay Son district will implement a detailed 1/500 planning and promote investment in infrastructure, especially the traffic system in VietGAP Thuan Nghia vegetable village (Phu Phong town) to develop tourism. The district also directed the agricultural sector to organize training courses and send households in Thuan Nghia vegetable village to study the community tourism development model for implementation locally.

The Cooperative continues to upgrade and expand processing and experience areas, serving the local education model for students...
Along with developing the tourism model in Thuan Nghia vegetable village, Tay Son district also urges production and business establishments to invest in the quality of OCOP products, ensuring the organization of exhibitions at tourist attractions inside and outside the district.
Typically, Thuong Giang Agricultural Cooperative has invested 540 million VND (of which the Department of Industry and Trade supported 130 million VND) to equip 2 multi-purpose oil presses to improve the quality of peanut oil and sesame oil products with OCOP certification to introduce and sell at many tourist destinations in the province.
“We have just received an offer to supply peanut oil and sesame oil to local tourist attractions such as Ham Ho, Tay Son Museum and some restaurants and hotels. To create quality products, meeting customers' needs as gifts, we hired designers to design exclusive bottles, labels, QR codes, and traceability of goods for peanut oil and sesame oil products,” said Mr. Tran Dinh Tho, Director of Thuong Giang Agricultural Cooperative.
Currently, many large-scale restaurants and eateries in Tay Son also display and promote the district's OCOP specialty products. Ms. Le Thi Hong Hanh, owner of Thanh Thanh restaurant (Phu Phong town) said: The restaurant has put the Tay Son tre brand product, which has been certified as an OCOP product, on the menu to serve tourists to the locality, and is popular with customers. We have also opened a counter to display and sell this product right at the restaurant, which sells very well during holidays and Tet; many customers in Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Da Nang, Gia Lai provinces... have even become regular customers.
