Thai Nguyen plans to plant 10,280 hectares of winter crops.

This winter crop, Thai Nguyen province plans to plant 10,280 hectares of crops, including 3,817 hectares of grain corn, 15 hectares of biomass corn, 7,755 hectares of vegetables, 170 hectares of potatoes and 95 hectares of sweet potatoes.

Green squash is one of the winter crops chosen by people, bringing high economic efficiency.

To effectively implement the winter crop production goals, the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection has issued production guidance documents to the People's Committees of communes and wards to direct specialized departments to implement; advise and propose provincial mechanisms and policies and implement local support policies; coordinate with specialized agencies to strengthen the inspection and examination of agricultural materials.

In line with the 2025 winter crop production plan, the provincial Center for Agricultural Extension and Environment organized training and guided farmers on intensive farming techniques and pest control measures.

The Provincial Agricultural Materials Joint Stock Company and the Irrigation Exploitation Company Limited develop a coordination plan to ensure the supply of seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides; and regulate water reasonably to meet production needs.

According to the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection, the province has about 26,000 hectares of early-season rice that will be harvested before September 20, 2025 for planting warm-loving crops. Localities will review the eligible early-season rice area, direct early drainage, urgently harvest and prepare the land for immediate planting. At the same time, develop a plan to register varieties with agencies, businesses, and supply stores to ensure enough varieties for winter-season production.
