Visit the red address where Uncle Ho used to do revolutionary activities in Chongqing, China

The Hongyan Revolutionary Memorial Site in Chongqing City, Southwest China, is a place to display and store many artifacts about the past revolutionary activities of Communist leaders such as Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai of China and especially President Ho Chi Minh of Vietnam. This place currently attracts many tourists to visit to learn about the history of the revolution and is also a red address for Vietnamese people in China.

At this relic site, there is still a small room on the second floor where Uncle Ho lived and worked during the period of 1939-1940 in China, with many simple items such as a single bed, a set of desk and chair, a bookshelf and a few other objects. Outside the room hangs a picture frame with a picture of Uncle Ho and a typewriter that he often used.

According to Chinese records, when he was operating in Chongqing under the alias Ho Quang, President Ho Chi Minh stayed at the Chongqing Eighth Route Army Office located in Hong Nham village. At that time, many Chinese Communist comrades only knew of a comrade with the alias Ho Quang, but did not know that he was a comrade of the brother Party. Every time he came here, Uncle Ho stayed in a small room on the upper floor of the office. In the impression of Chinese Communists at that time, comrade Ho Quang always dressed very simply, looking like a teacher in the countryside. He always carried a typewriter with him and often typed in his room.

At that time, near the working place of the "Eight-sided" Chongqing, there was an old tree. The soldier with the code name Ho Quang loved to rest and walk under the shade of that tree. Because he came in a secret position, usually with direct contact from comrade Zhou Enlai, very few people among the Chinese Communists knew about Uncle Ho's activities.

Visiting the Hong Nham Revolutionary Memorial Site, visiting the small, simple room where Uncle Ho lived during his revolutionary activities in China, every Vietnamese person feels proud and moved when learning more valuable details about a part of his life. Each object in this historical room reminds visitors of the difficult time of President Ho Chi Minh and the history of the Vietnamese revolution, and of the simple lifestyle that reflects the simple style of the great President Ho Chi Minh.
