Visiting families who had to evacuate urgently in Nhang hamlet, Kim Thuong commune

A delegation from Tan Son district recently visited and presented gifts to households in especially difficult circumstances who were urgently evacuated due to the risk of landslides in Nhang hamlet, Kim Thuong commune.

Due to the impact of storm No. 3 and the recent heavy rains. According to a survey by the specialized departments of the People's Committee of Tan Son district, there are currently 187 households living in Nhang hamlet, Kim Thuong commune, of which 63 households are in areas at high risk of landslides, seriously affecting people's lives and property.

Faced with that situation, the households were urgently supported by functional forces and local authorities to evacuate to stay with relatives or safe places arranged by the commune authorities.

To help stabilize the lives of the people, Tan Son district leaders visited and gave gifts to 10 households in especially difficult circumstances, each gift worth 1 million VND including cash and some necessary necessities.

The leaders of Tan Son district requested the Party Committee and the government of Kim Thuong commune to proactively develop measures to prevent and combat natural disasters and search and rescue; propagate and mobilize people to continue to evacuate people and property during storms and floods that pose a risk of landslides; resolutely not let people live in landslide areas to avoid damage caused by natural disasters. Timely grasp the aspirations of households in Nhang hamlet to have timely support plans. Request the district's professional agencies to continue to do a good job of completing the dossiers and procedures for granting resettlement land to Nhang hamlet people. Flexibly apply mechanisms to satisfactorily resolve the legitimate aspirations of the people on the basis of legal regulations and understanding.

The working delegation inspected and directed the response and damage recovery work caused by storm No. 3 in a number of communes in the district.
