Landing equipment installation for Long Thanh airport begins in December

Currently, the ILS/DME precision landing equipment of Long Thanh airport is being brought to the construction site for installation in December.

According to the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), the ILS/DME precision landing support equipment of Long Thanh airport is currently being brought to the construction site to serve the construction.

Installation of ILS/DME precision landing equipment at Long Thanh airport will begin in December.

It is expected that this equipment will begin installation in December to serve flight operations at Long Thanh airport when it comes into operation.

According to ACV, the operation of this system will contribute to improving the efficiency of flights landing at Long Thanh airport. At the same time, it will meet international aviation standards.

The landing aid system plays an important role in providing guidance information, helping pilots accurately determine the runway centerline and landing angle within the operating range.

Thanks to that, pilots will be maximally supported in the conditions during runway approach and landing, especially in bad weather conditions.

This equipment is included in package 4.6 - construction, equipment installation and design of runways, taxiways and aircraft parking lots. Up to now, package 4.6 has achieved more than 3,000 billion VND, equivalent to more than 42%. This package is 3 months ahead of schedule.

The contractor consortium is mobilizing nearly 2,000 workers and many machines, determined to put the project into technical operation before April 30 next year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification.
