In recent months, Suzuki Vietnam has made many notable changes in product distribution: stopping sales of models with poor sales such as Ertiga Hybrid, Ciaz and Swift.

Along with that, the Japanese car company focuses on the XL7 line, by replacing the pure gasoline version with a Hybrid variant.

The overall design of the car remains the same, only some details are painted black to increase the sportiness . Equipped with 2 additional features: cruise control and guide lights.

Despite the suffix "Hybrid" in its name, the powertrain of this MPV is actually a mild-hybrid, similar to its "brother" Ertiga Hybrid. The generator equipped on the XL7 Hybrid provides automatic stop and restart capabilities, while improving acceleration, and there is no pure electric driving mode.

By keeping the selling price the same as the pure gasoline version, Suzuki Vietnam hopes that this car model will improve its consumption and increase its competitiveness in the segment. Actual results in the first month of sales have shown positive signs, although not really a breakthrough compared to competitors.

According to data released by the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), Suzuki XL7 Hybrid sold 256 cars in September. The remaining pure gasoline version sold 26 cars, bringing the total sales of this car line to 282 cars.

This result helped Suzuki XL7 successfully escape "unsold", but only sold more than Toyota Avanza (204 cars). Meanwhile, users' tastes still leaned towards Mitsubishi Xpander (2,688 cars) and Toyota Veloz Cross (1,147 cars).

Experts explain that the low sales results in the first month of opening may be due to the fact that the supply of the XL7 Hybrid was not really stable when it was first launched.

The fact that domestic cars are supported by the State with a 50% reduction in registration fees from September 1st is one of the reasons why imported products like the XL7 Hybrid are forced to compete for incentives.
