Establishment of the association for the promotion of science and technology in biomedical physics and medical lasers

On April 13, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ministry of Home Affairs announced the decision to establish the Vietnam Association of Biomedical Physics and Medical Lasers. This is a social-professional organization, operating under the charter approved by the Minister of Home Affairs, complying with regulations, and under the management of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Health and related ministries and branches.

The Vietnam Association of Biomedical Physics and Medical Lasers aims to gather people working in the field of biomedical physics and medical lasers. Thereby helping each other improve professional qualifications, professional ethics, study, research, practice, and exploit the application of biomedical physics and medical laser techniques.

In the coming time, the association will focus on developing members nationwide, attracting doctors, engineers, scientists , lecturers, students and businesses interested in the field of biomedical physics and medical lasers. Organizing training courses, seminars and scientific conferences to improve knowledge, practical skills and update new technical advances for members.

The Society will also participate in building and reviewing expertise in the fields of biomedical physics and medical lasers.

Encourage and support scientific research and development of new technologies in diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation using physical and laser application methods.

Promote the transfer of technology and research products into practice in hospitals and medical facilities. Connect with businesses and investors in the development of biomedical equipment and medical laser technology.

The Association will also participate in commenting and proposing legal documents and professional regulations related to the fields of biomedical physics and medical lasers, supporting state agencies in developing standards for biomedical equipment inspection. Participate in consulting and social criticism of projects related to the Association's field of operation.

At the congress for the 2025-2030 term of the association, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham The Hien - Deputy Director of Vung Tau Hospital - was elected as President of the Vietnam Association of Biomedical Physics and Medical Lasers.
