Phu Binh Youth join hands to protect the environment

Phu Binh district currently has about 35,000 young people between the ages of 16 and 30. In order to mobilize young people to join hands in protecting the environment, in recent times, Phu Binh District Youth Union has promoted propaganda and raised awareness for youth union members in many forms such as: From the loudspeaker system, integrating content into union and association activities; posting articles on social networks Zalo, Facebook...

In addition to propaganda activities, the District Youth Union also promotes the implementation of the Youth Volunteer movement associated with the Phu Binh movement to join hands in building new rural areas and civilized urban areas.

From 2022 to present, the District Youth Union has organized 75 launching activities in response to the programs "Volunteer Saturday" and "Green Sunday" simultaneously in 20/20 communes and towns, attracting more than 10,000 Youth Union members to participate. During the launching sessions, the youth force enthusiastically participated in cleaning and collecting garbage on the roads of hamlets, communes and both sides of the Dao Canal; removing billboards and leaflets; planting trees, flowers, etc.

During the Winter Volunteer and Spring Volunteer campaigns, the District Youth Union also organized environmental activities such as: training on waste classification at households, organic waste treatment; donating trash cans... From 2022 to present, the District Youth Union has coordinated to donate 5 Biogas tanks, 60 trash cans and many training sessions on environmental protection for people.

In parallel with the district-wide campaigns, the Youth Union units also proactively coordinate with local authorities and socio -political organizations to maintain monthly environmental sanitation activities. During these sessions, the Youth Union members and people collect waste along inter-village roads, clear sewers, remove illegal advertising and classified ads, and take care of and plant more flowers and trees in public areas.

In addition, the District Youth Union also directed the communes, towns, and affiliated unions to register to undertake projects and youth work on environmental protection. In many schools, school unions organized the program "Exchanging trash for trees", mobilizing students to collect cans and bottles in exchange for planting trees. In Tan Hoa commune, since 2023, the commune Youth Union has built a model of "Green house for recycling trash" in schools.

Accordingly, students will collect waste paper and plastic bottles to sell to raise funds for the team and the youth union. Many commune and town-level unions have built “Bright - green - clean - beautiful” roads managed by the youth themselves. Here, the youth take on the task of regularly sweeping, planting and taking care of flowers and trees on both sides of the road. To date, the whole district has nearly 200 roads managed by the youth themselves, and 20 “Youth Tree Row” models.

Mr. Duong Nghia Ky, Secretary of the Youth Union of Xuan Phuong Commune: The commune Youth Union has directed 100% of the Youth Union branches to build self-managed youth roads. Once a month, the Youth Union branches organize to sweep, weed, and take care of trees along the roads. In addition, the Youth Union members also actively respond to environmental sanitation sessions initiated by the hamlets. Thanks to that, the roads in the area always maintain a clean and beautiful appearance.

From practical ways, the environmental protection movement among the members and youth of Phu Binh district is spreading more and more strongly. Not only creating a clean and beautiful living environment, these activities also contributeto educating the awareness and responsibility of the young generation towards the community; actively contributing to the achievements of building new rural areas of the locality.

In addition, we will also direct the Youth Union branches to register to build more practical youth models and projects on the environment.
