To date, the district has nearly 4,000 hectares of tea, of which the commercial tea area is nearly 3,760 hectares, the tea area produced according to VietGap standards is over 2,000 hectares. In 2024, the output of fresh tea buds will reach nearly 47,500 tons. Compared to 2020, the district's VietGAP tea area increased by 400 hectares, the output of fresh tea buds increased by over 5,900 tons.
Dried tea buds certified to meet VietGAP standards have an average selling price of 250,000 VND - 300,000 VND/kg, nearly double the price of uncertified dried tea buds.
To continue improving the quality and increasing the value of tea products, Dong Hy district will focus on implementing a number of solutions: Promoting the application of scientific and technological advances and mechanization in production; having policies to encourage and provide investment incentives to attract resources for tea development; expanding safe tea areas, producing according to VietGAP processes; continuing to transform the structure of tea varieties; focusing on planting new ones, replacing old tea varieties, low productivity and quality...
