The city flew flags at half-mast in memory of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

At the Northwest Square of Son La city, the flag-lowering ceremony took place in a solemn and emotional atmosphere with the presence of many people participating.

Expressing condolences over the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, a true Communist who devoted his whole life to the nation and country, the Party Committee, government and people of Son La city vow to promote the tradition of solidarity, turn grief into revolutionary action, and are determined to build a clean and strong Party Committee and a developed city.

The flag-raising ceremony is carried out in accordance with the provisions of Decree No. 105/2012/ND-CP dated December 17, 2012 of the Government . The People's Committee of Son La City announces and requests that agencies, units, communes and wards in the area stop all entertainment activities during the two days of the National Mourning on July 25 and 26, 2024.

Immediately afterwards, state offices, Party committees, unions, social organizations, businesses, schools, hospitals, and armed forces units in the city flew flags at half-mast to commemorate General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
