Within the framework of the 2025 Spring Festival, the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture launched the VNUA Student Flower and Ornamental Plants Club, and organized an auction of flowers, ornamental plants, and science and technology products of the Academy's students to raise funds to support students in difficult circumstances.


Sharing about the significance of the auction of unique flower and bonsai products within the framework of the 2025 Spring Festival, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan, Director of the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture, said that the bonsai and ornamental plants auctioned are creative products of students of the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture.

"The auction of bonsai products of students this time aims to create an interesting playground for students, motivate and encourage them to be more creative in studying and scientific research. Through the auction, we hope to have more funds to raise funds, scholarships, and support students in difficult circumstances," emphasized Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan.

It is known that at the auction on the evening of January 17, 2025, many flower, ornamental plant, and bonsai works of students of Vietnam Agricultural Academy were paid very high prices by investors, from several million to several tens of millions of VND.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan, Director of Vietnam National University of Agriculture, together with the Board of Directors and students, pressed the button to launch the VNUA Student Flower and Ornamental Plants Club.

Besides the flower and ornamental plant auction, on the evening of January 17, Vietnam National University of Agriculture also launched the VNUA Student Flower and Ornamental Plant Club.

The VNUA Student Flower and Ornamental Plants Club was established on November 5, 2024, to welcome the 35th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union , term 2024-2027, with the mission of creating an environment for exchange, learning and nurturing passion for flowers and ornamental plants. This is a gathering place for young people who love nature and want to explore and be creative in this field. This is also one of the most active and meaningful clubs at the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture.

At the launching ceremony, the Youth Union of the Academy requested that the VNUA Student Flower and Ornamental Plants Club continue to improve the quality of its activities and regularly organize specialized meetings to share knowledge about techniques for planting and caring for flowers and ornamental plants.

In addition, the Club proactively builds plans, invites experts to exchange practical experiences, helps students access in-depth and useful knowledge, and makes continuous efforts to contribute to promoting the sustainable development of the Vietnamese ornamental plant industry and reaching international standards.

The VNUA student flower and ornamental plant club also needs to focus on promoting academic activities, organizing more seminars and practice sessions to improve knowledge and practical skills for members; organizing events, exhibitions and green space design competitions, and flower arrangement art to promote innovation and creativity.

The auction of ornamental flowers and ornamental flower products of students of Vietnam Agricultural Academy took place very excitingly.

Establishing clubs and student scientific research groups to equip students with more knowledge and soft skills is one of the priorities of the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture.

The report shows that currently, the Academy has a system of more than 70 clubs, groups, teams, and groups, divided into activity groups such as: Academic and scientific research clubs; Cultural, artistic, sports, and media clubs; and social and volunteer clubs.

Associate Professor Dr. Tran Hiep, Head of the Department of Science and Technology, Vietnam National Academy of Agriculture, said that in order to promote scientific research, start-ups, and innovation among students, the Academy annually provides 300-500 scientific research topics for students, creating conditions for students to research and apply. The auction of products created by students themselves is also a motivation to create more complete products that can be commercialized.

According to Dr. Nguyen Cong Tiep, Deputy Director of Vietnam Academy of Agriculture, in 2024, the Academy has allocated up to 5 billion VND to support start-up and innovation activities of students, and at the same time sent experts and scientists to support students in multiplying potential projects, further developing them to be able to create scientific and technological products, towards commercialization in the future.

"We have identified 2025 as the year for student work with a budget of about 20 billion VND to continue supporting start-up activities and club activities. The Academy will continue to coordinate with agencies to support creative ideas of students and organize start-up programs for high school students to concretize Resolution 57 of the Politburo, support students in finding creative ideas right from high school, continue to foster a love of agriculture and projects when they become students, create a stepping stone to support them in starting a business, thereby contributing to their families and society", emphasized Dr. Nguyen Cong Tiep.
