Spread patriotism
In the atmosphere of the whole country looking forward to the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, teacher Nguyen Tri Hanh, an art teacher at Hermann Gmeiner Vinh High School, Nghe An province, has a "special project" as a gift of gratitude and remembrance of the historic moment in the fall of 1945.

Mr. Hanh started working on this project in May. At this time, students were on summer vacation, and the classroom became his “studio”. With colored chalk and a green board, he completed 5 works on the theme of National Day, including: Uncle Ho visits his hometown, Uncle reads the Declaration of Independence, Uncle Ho with children, The man looking for the shape of the country, and 80 years, I love my Vietnam.
Among them, the painting titled “80 years, I love my Vietnam” was completed by the teacher after 3 consecutive days, from sketching, coloring to perfecting the light and depth. The image of Uncle Ho writing the Declaration of Independence is the central highlight, next to it is the red flag with a yellow star fluttering and the sacred Declaration.

The colors he chose were harmonious, but still highlighted the two tones of red and yellow to emphasize the national spirit. “Every detail has its own meaning. I want the students to relive the heroic atmosphere of the autumn of 1945,” Mr. Hanh shared.
Mr. Hanh said that this year's National Day, September 2, with its 80th anniversary, is a very special occasion for the nation. The works this time not only have an artistic perspective, but are also a spiritual gift to the country's important holiday.
'Fortune' of more than 500 pastel works
Teacher Nguyen Tri Hanh once made a strong impression on social networks with his pastel paintings on the blue board. He owns more than 500 pastel paintings, from heroic historical moments, portraits of famous people, to simple landscapes of his homeland. Paintings such as Immortal Spring, North - South One House... all impress with the sophistication in each stroke and historical significance. For him, each painting is a "living history lesson" for his students.

Mr. Hanh said that this “special project” to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd has been something he has cherished for a long time. He chose colored chalk because of its simplicity and familiarity: the blue board and white chalk have been associated with many generations of students, just as the image of Uncle Ho is always close to the people.
Unlike oil paint or watercolor, pastels do not spread color, requiring the artist to practice patiently from simple strokes to complex details. But it is this difficulty that urges the teacher to explore and create, so that each drawing contains a story, a message. "Each stroke of chalk is a word of gratitude to Uncle Ho and the generations of fathers and brothers who sacrificed so that the country can have independence and peace like today," said Mr. Hanh.

After each time he posted his paintings on social media, they received thousands of likes, shares and countless compliments. “Although I regret having to delete my brainchildren, I am happy because they will forever exist in the hearts of the audience, not belonging to anyone,” the teacher from Nghe An expressed.
The pictures will be erased, but the emotions and impressions will remain forever. That is the lasting value, sowing in the souls of the young generation national pride and respect for the past. From those simple things, the spirit of patriotism is still preserved and spread.
