Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team arrive in Frankfurt to begin training

On the evening of June 5, German time, the Vietnamese women's national football team arrived in Frankfurt/Main (Germany) for a training trip in Europe to prepare for the 2023 Women 's World Cup. The Vietnamese women's team's trip to Europe this time will last 3 weeks in Frankfurt from June 5-26 and then in Warsaw (Poland).

According to the VNA correspondent in Germany, due to the long direct flight time from Hanoi to Frankfurt (about 12 hours), the players and the coaching staff were quite tired. Welcoming the delegation directly at the foot of the plane were Vietnamese Consul General in Frankfurt Le Quang Long, Mr. Pham Van Kien - Consulate General staff and Mr. Kambiz Ghawami - President of the World University Support Organization of Germany (WUS). Talking with the Head of the delegation, also the Head Coach of the women's team Mai Duc Chung and the players, Consul General Le Quang Long welcomed the Vietnamese women's team to Frankfurt, starting a training trip in Europe to prepare for the journey to conquer the 2023 World Cup. Expressing his joy at welcoming the delegation in Frankfurt, Consul General Le Quang Long wished the whole delegation good health and a successful training trip. Coach Mai Duc Chung expressed his gratitude to the Consulate General as well as the President of WUS for welcoming the delegation, hoping that this purely professional training trip to Germany will be a great success, creating momentum for the best results of the team at the 2023 World Cup. Coach Mai Duc Chung also shared that he led the women's team to Germany for training 7 years ago and hoped that the delegation would take the time to visit the Consulate General as well as the beautiful city of Frankfurt, Germany. The coaching staff and the Vietnamese women's team coming to Frankfurt this time have 37 people, in addition, player Huynh Nhu will also arrive in Frankfurt from Portugal late that night to join the team.

According to the plan, the next day (June 6), the team will start training and will have a friendly match with Eintracht Frankfurt on June 10, followed by a friendly match with Schott Mainz on August 15. The expected friendly match is the confrontation between our team, currently ranked 33rd in the FIFA rankings, and the German women's national football team, currently ranked 2nd in the FIFA rankings. This match is scheduled to take place on June 24 at the Am Bieberer Berg Stadium in Offenbach am Main. During the training period in Europe, the Vietnamese women's team is also expected to have a friendly match with the Polish U23 team.
