“Patriotic emulation must become a revolutionary action movement”

(Dan Tri) - The Vice President emphasized that in the new period, patriotic emulation must truly become a revolutionary action movement, closely linking theory and practice, and the Party's will with the people's hearts.

On the morning of October 29, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan attended and directed the 11th Patriotic Emulation Congress of Thanh Hoa province, period 2025-2030.

Honoring 321 advanced models

Mr. Nguyen Hoai Anh, Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that the 11th Patriotic Emulation Congress is an important political event of profound significance, affirming the development of the patriotic emulation movement in Thanh Hoa province over the past 5 years.

The congress honored advanced models, good people and good deeds, which are typical "flowers" in the patriotic emulation garden, selected from advanced model conferences of sectors, localities and units across the province.

Mr. Anh said that over the past 5 years, the patriotic emulation movement and the province's commendation work have developed strongly, achieved many outstanding results, and contributed significantly to the successful implementation of socio -economic development goals, ensuring national defense and security, and building the Party and the political system.

This Patriotic Emulation Congress aims to summarize and comprehensively evaluate the achieved results, point out the shortcomings and limitations in leadership, direction, organization of emulation movements and reward work.

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan emphasized that Thanh Hoa is a land rich in cultural, historical and revolutionary traditions. During the past term, the province achieved many important results, with high economic growth and rapid expansion.

The average economic growth rate in the 2021-2025 period is estimated at 10.24%, ranking 4th in the country, among the 8 localities with the largest economic scale.

Industry, services and agriculture develop sustainably. Thanh Hoa currently ranks 3rd in the country in terms of the number of OCOP products, 4th in terms of the number of tourists and 5th in terms of total tourism revenue.

The province has eliminated more than 14,700 temporary and dilapidated houses; and taken good care of policies for people with meritorious services.

Patriotic emulation is the driving force to promote development aspirations.

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan emphasized that over the past 5 years, the emulation movement in Thanh Hoa has been widely and creatively deployed, becoming an important driving force to promote comprehensive development in all fields; the reward work continues to be innovated, ensuring timeliness, right people, right work, with a strong encouraging and spreading effect.

During the term, the province was honored to have 1 collective awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces, 1 collective awarded the title of Hero of Labor; more than 170 collectives and individuals were awarded Medals; more than 450 collectives and individuals received Emulation Flags and Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister and many other forms of commendation.

The Vice President emphasized that Thanh Hoa province, with its potential, advantages and achievements, is facing a great opportunity to become a leading and model province of the country.

The Vice President also noted that in the coming time, the patriotic emulation movement in the area needs to be promoted more strongly. Specifically, Thanh Hoa needs to continue to innovate the emulation and reward work in a serious, practical, effective and productive manner.

In particular, the emulation movement must become an important source of spiritual motivation, strengthening confidence, promoting pride and aspiration for development; arousing the good values ​​of Thanh people - patriotism, revolution, loyalty, diligence, creativity, daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility for the common cause, making worthy contributions to the development of the homeland and country.

In addition, the reward work needs to continue to be comprehensively innovated, ensuring timeliness, fairness, substance, exemplary value, and widespread in society; rewards are not only a recognition of achievements but also a form of honoring the spirit of dedication, innovation, creativity, and sense of serving the community.

“In the new period, patriotic emulation must truly be a revolutionary action movement, closely linking theory and practice, the Party's will with the people's hearts, tradition with the present and the future.

Only then will patriotic emulation permeate social life, become a voluntary action of each organization and individual, and become an important spiritual driving force contributing to Thanh Hoa's rapid and sustainable development along with the whole country," the Vice President emphasized.

On this occasion, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan presented 200 million VND to the Children's Protection Council of Thanh Hoa province, and presented gifts of gratitude to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Phan Thi Mui; Hero of the People's Armed Forces Ngo Thi Tuyen; Hero of the People's Armed Forces Do Van Chuyen.

At the congress, on behalf of the President, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan awarded the Third Class Labor Medal to the Party Committee, Government and People of Thanh Hoa province for their outstanding achievements in the national emulation movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses; and the First Class Exploit Medal to Mr. Nguyen Hong Phong - former Director of the Department of Internal Security (Ministry of Public Security), now Standing Deputy Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee.

The Vice President also awarded the First Class Labor Medal to 3 individuals; the Second Class Labor Medal to 2 individuals from Thanh Hoa province; and the Government's Emulation Flag to 4 collectives of the province.

The Congress also honored 321 outstanding examples in the patriotic emulation movement in the whole province for the period 2020-2025.
