On the morning of October 25th, at the Ho Chi Minh City Cadre Academy, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee organized the first Ho Chi Minh City Patriotic Emulation Congress (2025-2030) with the theme "Unity, innovation, creativity, and emulation to build Ho Chi Minh City as a pioneer, joining the whole country in entering a new era".
At the congress, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Internal Affairs Pham Thanh Chung read a letter of commendation from Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praising the Ho Chi Minh City Police force for their outstanding achievements in the fight against crime in the recent past.
The letter of commendation stated: “I am pleased to learn that in recent times, the Ho Chi Minh City Police have implemented comprehensive and decisive measures to combat and dismantle many large-scale, organized criminal, economic, and drug trafficking rings.”
In particular, after discovering a drug trafficking ring smuggling narcotics from abroad into Vietnam at Tan Son Nhat International Airport on March 16, 2023, the Ho Chi Minh City Police organized a thorough investigation and prosecution of the suspects. To date, they have dismantled 434 drug gangs, prosecuted 2,272 defendants operating in 22 localities, seized 596 kg of various types of drugs, 12 guns, and 3 grenades…
On behalf of the Government, I warmly congratulate, commend, and highly appreciate the achievements of the Ho Chi Minh City Police, and request the Ministry of Public Security to appropriately reward and propose commendations for the collective and individuals who have achieved outstanding results in the aforementioned fight against crime.
At the same time, he instructed the relevant authorities to build on the achievements made and continue to vigorously combat and suppress all types of crime, especially drug-related crimes and transnational organized crime."
Mr. Mai Hoang, representing the forces, received the letter of commendation from the Prime Minister, which was presented by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Nguyen Van Duoc.
The Congress is an opportunity to summarize and evaluate the results of the patriotic emulation movement during the 2021-2025 period; and at the same time, to honor many heroic collectives and individuals, as well as 478 exemplary advanced figures, representing thousands of outstanding role models in all fields of life in the city.
The Congress also commended heroic collectives and individuals, national emulation fighters, and recognized their efforts, initiatives, and breakthrough solutions in labor, study, scientific research, production and business, digital transformation, and social welfare.
