On the morning of June 12, on her personal Facebook page, contestant of the Miss Vietnam 2024 contest Vo Thi Thanh Binh (20 years old, from Quang Tri ) posted an article with the content "sincerely apologize" after the clip of her performing a dance in front of Thai Hoa Palace, causing controversy and anger in the online community.

Earlier that morning, the female contestant posted a short clip of her performing a dance in front of the Thai Hoa Palace inside the Hue Imperial City.

In the clip, the young girl wears a modernized ao dai, performs dance moves and knocks on glasses in front of the audience hall, with the majestic Thai Hoa Palace behind her. The performance prop is a small table placed right in the middle of the audience hall.

After the clip was posted, the online community was in an uproar when many people expressed their unacceptable views on the image of a girl dancing and climbing on a tea table in front of the Thai Hoa Palace - the place where the throne is located and also the symbol of supreme power of the Nguyen Dynasty.

This opinion is supported by many people. However, on the contrary, many people also think that the girl only filmed the clip outside Thai Hoa Palace, which is just a relic, no longer a symbol of a dynasty like before, so there is no need to be too strict.

In the article, the Miss Vietnam 2024 contestant said that from the beginning, when she received the challenge of performing at a place with such profound cultural significance, she did not thoroughly and fully understand the sacredness as well as the appropriate rules of conduct.

"This shortcoming led to my performance not being appropriate to historical culture, causing misunderstandings and negative emotions in the audience. As a contestant participating in the competition, I should have been more careful and prepared much more thoroughly.

During the training and preparation for the competition, I tried my best but could not avoid confusion and shortcomings. This cannot justify my mistakes and I take full responsibility for my actions," wrote Vo Thi Thanh Binh.

Binh also said that this mistake was a valuable lesson for her to reflect on and learn from. She promised to be more careful in all her actions and statements, always aware of her responsibility to the culture and community.
