Mathematics is one of two compulsory subjects, with a large number of candidates taking the exam. There were more than 1.15 million candidates taking the exam. Although this year's exam was considered relatively difficult, 513 of the candidates scored 10 points. Previously, in 2024, this number was 0 candidates. Hanoi had the most 10 points with 93 points. Meanwhile, Ninh Binh had the highest average score in Mathematics with 5,406.

The score distribution of Literature in 2025 is concentrated in the range of 6.0 to 7.5. Specifically, the score with the highest number of candidates is 6.75 points with 95,188 candidates, followed by 7.0 points (91,468 candidates) and 6.5 points (89,360 candidates). Not many candidates achieved outstandingly high scores (9 points or more), no candidate got 10 points in Literature.

This year, nearly 352,000 candidates took the high school graduation exam in English . The average score of candidates was 5.38. In English, 141 candidates scored 10 points and 2 candidates scored 0 points.

The 2025 high school graduation exam is the first exam for students studying the 2018 generaleducation program.
However, to facilitate candidates studying the old program who have not graduated from high school or have graduated but take the exam to use the university admission results, the Ministry of Education and Training organizes exams for both subjects studying the two programs, with two different sets of exam questions and different exam methods.
Candidates studying the 2006 program who have not graduated from high school will take 4 exams including Math, Literature, English and 1 of 2 combined exams: Natural Science (including Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Social Science (including History, Geography, Civic Education).
Candidates taking the 2018 exam program will take 4 exams including Math, Literature and 2 optional exams from the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, Technology, History, Geography, Economics and Law, and Foreign Language.
According to the plan, candidates will know their graduation exam scores at 8am tomorrow. After that, the Departments of Education and Training and high schools will complete the process of recognizing high school graduation no later than July 18.
Units will print and send exam result certificates to candidates no later than July 22.
The collection of appeal applications and the preparation of the appeal list will take place from July 16 to July 25. The organization of the exam appeal (if any) will be completed no later than August 3.
