Hong Linh town focuses on site clearance for Nguyen Thiep road project

Nguyen Thiep road project is being focused on by contractors to construct the cleared section.

The project to invest in the construction of the upgrading and expansion of Nguyen Thiep Street (phase 1) has a total length of more than 5.1km (including the bridge length), passing through Nam Hong ward and Thuan Loc commune, with a total investment of 200 billion VND.

The project invests in the construction of items such as: road system; sidewalks and median strips; culverts, drainage ditches; construction of new Dinh Hat bridge; lighting system; water supply system and traffic safety system. The project will start in September 2024 and is expected to be completed after 14 months of construction.

To implement the project, the total land area that needs to be cleared is nearly 8.5 hectares, directly affecting 271 households and 3 organizations.

Thuan Loc Commune is a locality where many households are affected by land acquisition to implement the Nguyen Thiep road project.

Thuan Loc commune is a locality that is greatly affected with 204 households having to undergo land clearance to serve the project. Therefore, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Thuan Loc commune have focused on mobilizing the entire political system to speed up the land clearance work.

Mr. Bui Quang Liem - Chairman of Thuan Loc Commune People's Committee said: During the implementation process, it is inevitable that there will be questions and lack of understanding about compensation and support policies for site clearance. Therefore, the commune has established propaganda and mobilization teams, assigned cadres to each residential area and each household to grasp the situation, thoughts, aspirations and widely and thoroughly disseminate related policies. Therefore, up to now, basically, people have agreed and handed over the site to serve the project.

Up to now, in Thuan Loc commune, compensation has been paid to 80 households, 95 households have had their compensation plans approved by the Town People's Committee, and 29 households have not completed their compensation and support plans.

Mr. Tran Phu in Tan Hoa village (Thuan Loc commune) - one of the households with a large area of residential land to be recovered, shared: "When I heard that the Nguyen Thiep road project was being implemented, I was very excited because my hometown is about to have a spacious traffic route passing through, creating favorable conditions for socio -economic development in the area. Therefore, although the area of land to be recovered is quite large, ^335m2 , and almost the entire house had to be demolished, my family has completed it to serve the project construction".

Many households affected by the Nguyen Thiep road project have moved their fences to hand over the land to the construction contractor.

In Nam Hong ward, 67 households were affected and had to carry out land acquisition and clearance when implementing the project. Mr. Thai Luong - Chairman of Nam Hong ward People's Committee said: "In order for the land acquisition and clearance to proceed smoothly, the ward has proactively disseminated relevant policies and guidelines to the people through meetings and sent staff directly to the families. Therefore, the people all agreed with the policy of land acquisition for road construction. As a result, up to now, 100% of households whose land area was acquired have received compensation and support and have handed over the site to the construction unit."

According to the report of the People's Committee of Hong Linh town, out of 271 households and 3 organizations affected, the compensation, support and resettlement council of the town has completed compensation payment for land acquisition and clearance for 147 households and 3 organizations, completed and submitted to the People's Committee of the town for approval of compensation plans for 95 households, while 29 households have not completed the compensation plan.

With the land area handed over, construction units are focusing on human resources and machinery to speed up progress; currently, contractors have completed more than 40% of the project volume.

HD Construction Company Limited is focusing on equipment and machinery for project construction.

Mr. Tu Nhu Dat - Project Manager (HD Construction Company Limited, headquartered in Ha Tinh City) - one of the project contractors said: "After receiving the site, since September 2024, we have focused all resources to speed up the construction progress. We hope to soon hand over the entire site to ensure the project is completed according to the set plan".

Drainage components for project construction are prefabricated by contractors.

Vice Chairman of Hong Linh Town People's Committee Ton Quang Ngoc said: "In the coming time, the Town People's Committee will continue to direct the Finance - Planning Department, the Town Investment Project Management Board and Thuan Loc Commune People's Committee to work with the remaining 29 households to agree on compensation and support plans and make payment of funds in accordance with regulations. Organize the handover of the site to the construction unit to implement the project; focus on directing contractors to speed up progress, ensuring compliance with the set plan".
