Mr. Nguyen Tien Manh's family (residing in Tien Hoa village, Yen Ho commune) is a poor household, with 3 children of school age. The couple's income mainly depends on farming.
In July 2023, Mr. Manh received support for a goat farming livelihood model from the "Livelihood Diversification and Poverty Reduction Model Development Project" of the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction. Up to now, from the initial 3 goats, Mr. Manh's family's herd has grown to 6 goats, of which 2 are preparing to reproduce.

Mr. Manh shared: “When receiving the goat farming livelihood model, my family was very excited because goats are easy to care for animals, mainly eating leaves in the home garden. Therefore, the care is not very expensive, in return, thanks to the goats' breeding, my family has daily work, additional income to raise children for education. In 2024, I will officially escape poverty. My wife and I will continue to try to grow crops and raise livestock to develop the economy .”
In recent years, Yen Ho commune has been one of the localities that has effectively implemented the "Livelihood diversification and poverty reduction model development project". On average, each year, the locality supports livelihood models of cows, chickens, and goats for 8-10 households. "Following the policies of all levels, the Fatherland Front of Yen Ho commune has conducted surveys and grasped the people's thoughts to develop plans to grant appropriate livelihood models. Up to now, the livestock economic models in the commune have been effective, increasing people's income. Thanks to that, each year the locality has about 10 households escaping poverty. The whole commune currently has 26 poor households, accounting for 2% and 38 near-poor households, accounting for 2.93%", said Mr. Le Thanh Ha - Chairman of the Fatherland Front of Yen Ho commune.

The breeding cow model of Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa's family (residing in Dong Hoa village, Tan Dan commune) is also being cared for healthily, effectively promoting, contributing to creating jobs and increasing income.
“My husband passed away early, I am in poor health and have to take care of my elderly mother and 2 children's education. Since 2023, with the attention of all levels and sectors, I have received a cow to develop livestock farming. In addition, local officials also regularly encourage, guide care and disease prevention, thanks to which the cow has developed well, has given birth to the first litter, helping the family have more income. Currently, the cow is preparing to give birth to the second litter. My family is trying to escape poverty by 2025" - Ms. Hoa shared.
These livelihood models not only provide “fishing rods” to help poor and near-poor households in Tan Dan commune improve their jobs and increase their income, but also demonstrate the Party and State’s concern for all classes of people, so that “no one is left behind”.

Mr. Tran Van Thach - Vice Chairman of Tan Dan Commune People's Committee shared: "After receiving policies from all levels, Tan Dan Commune People's Committee reviewed the households that benefited from the livelihood models, ensuring the right beneficiaries. In 2024, the whole commune had 34 households receiving livelihood models, including 7 cow models and 27 chicken models. Not only handing out "fishing rods", we also sent specialized staff to train and guide people on how to take care of them to ensure the models are well developed. Also in 2024, Tan Dan commune had 12 households escape poverty and near-poverty".
Not only in Yen Ho and Tan Dan communes, many livelihood models in the communes of Bui La Nhan, Tung Chau, Truong Son, Duc Tho town... have also been effective, helping the poor to reduce difficulties, motivating them to rise up to take control of their lives, actively increase production, and increase income.

Mr. Bui Ngoc Nhat - Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Duc Tho district shared: "To contribute to improving the lives of poor households, near-poor households, and households in difficult circumstances, towards sustainable poverty reduction, every year, the Standing Committee of the Fatherland Front Committee of the district issues a plan to implement poverty reduction work, coordinates with political and social organizations to survey the need for support for poverty reduction livelihood models of poor households, near-poor households, and households in difficult circumstances from communes and towns.
From 2021-2025, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations from the district to the grassroots level have supported 395 livelihood models of sows, goats, chickens, and seedlings with a total amount of VND 940 million for poor households, near-poor households, and households in difficult circumstances, creating jobs and increasing income for the poor, contributing to reducing the poverty rate from 2.96% (943 households) in 2021 to 737 households (2.34%) in 2025. People in localities are excited and competing to work and produce to improve their lives.
From understanding the people's thoughts and aspirations to the way of giving "fishing rods", effectively implementing the livelihood diversification project has helped the poverty rate in Duc Tho district decrease significantly in recent years. This is also the motivation for poor and near-poor households in the district to overcome difficulties, rise up to change their lives, and work together with the locality towards sustainable poverty reduction.
