Tan Uyen Children "5 Good"

Remembering the occasion of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 2024), Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Giang Pao My and the provincial delegation visited and presented gifts to the families of war invalids in Tan Uyen town. Upon hearing the news, from early morning, children with bright red scarves on their shoulders gathered to welcome the provincial delegation at the family of Mr. Do Thai Son (residential group 32, Tan Uyen town) who was infected with toxic chemicals with a body injury rate of 61%.
Mr. Son spent time working for the revolution in Laos and the provinces of Nghe An, Tay Ninh, Binh Duong , Yen Bai, Lai Chau and the Central Highlands. Due to the effects of war and his age, he is no longer as healthy as before, constantly sick. On this occasion, the children not only welcomed the delegation, but also asked about the health of the old veteran; listened to Mr. Son tell stories about the battlefield, recalling the fierce years of war so that the children could better understand the value of peace. From there, they learned to love their homeland, their country and live a useful life for society.
During the flood that occurred in Lang Nu (Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province) in 2024, many students in the district saved money for breakfast, Mid-Autumn Festival gifts, and lucky money to donate to support people affected by natural disasters and floods. Among them, two twin brothers, Thang and Loi (students of Tan Uyen town secondary school), saved a bundle of small change with a total value of 805,000 VND to send to Lang Nu people. Their actions are fragrant flowers offered to life, making society full of good deeds and beautiful gestures.
The above are just a few of the many typical, practical and meaningful activities and deeds of Tan Uyen children in implementing Uncle Ho's teachings: Love the Fatherland, love the people. In addition, they also regularly visit families with meritorious services, participate in environmental protection activities, take care of vegetable gardens at school, pick up lost items and return them to their owners...
During the period 2020 - 2025, children in the district donated over 120 million VND. The teams also regularly organize fundraising activities, donate money, clothes, and school supplies to children in difficult circumstances and support people affected by natural disasters. And there are many other typical activities showing love for compatriots, the spirit of "the whole leaves cover the torn leaves".

Students of Tan Uyen district participated in the propaganda contest to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification organized by the District Youth Union at the end of April 2025.

Children of Tan Uyen district clearly identify studying as the most important task. In the past time, they have been active, made efforts to carry out and achieved excellent results. Many children have achieved high achievements in studying, national and provincial Violympic exams and certificates of merit and awards at the provincial level. Under the guidance and instruction of teachers, leaders, union and team officials, clubs, groups and collective activities, especially extracurricular activities, are increasingly organized and attract a large number of team members, teenagers and children to participate. Through these activities, children learn, exchange, share and strengthen the spirit of solidarity and attachment, know how to care and help each other in studying, work with friends to overcome difficulties, progress together, build a united, progressive collective, and build a strong team.
The students also maintain good discipline, comply with school and class rules and regulations, and behave civilly in public; build a safe and healthy school environment. As members of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Team, they are always proud and strictly follow the style and order of team members. Self-consciously following the Team Charter and Team Rituals has helped them practice discipline, thereby contributing to building a routine of living and forming awareness of complying with the general regulations of the collective. Maintaining good hygiene, although only a small activity, has been done in accordance with Uncle Ho's teaching "Young people do small things, according to their strength".

Learning and following Uncle Ho's teachings, children in Tan Uyen district are always humble, obedient, and polite to their grandparents, teachers, and parents. They respect the elderly, are friendly with friends, and have a progressive spirit to constantly improve in their studies and training. There have been many examples of good people and good deeds among children, typical of which are those who picked up lost items and returned them to their owners, such as Lo Huyen Chi, Tang Van Diep, Lo Thi Yen, Ha Thi Nhu Quynh, and Ha Khanh Phuong (Pac Ta Primary and Secondary School Union).
Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen - Deputy Secretary of the District Youth Union, Chairman of the District Youth Union Council assessed: With their efforts in studying and training, at the 4th Uncle Ho's Good Children Congress of Tan Uyen District held in March 2025, 121 outstanding children were awarded the "Uncle Ho's Good Children" certificate. This is a worthy result and recognition for the children and teenagers in the whole district.
