The "new valedictorian" said that in high school, she was a student at Binh Phu High School (District 6, Ho Chi Minh City). At that time, Thu studied normally with not-so-excellent results. Born into a family with parents who were in business, Thu never thought of studying Law because she was very shy, afraid of communication, and afraid of crowds. Thu's passion was Korean language and culture. Therefore, she wanted to study Korean Language or Korean Studies. However, when the university entrance exam had only a few days left to change her wishes, Thu decided to "change direction" and choose Ho Chi Minh City University of Law at the suggestion of a relative. The decision was a bit hasty, but up to now, Thu feels that this choice was the right one.

Admitted to the school, Thu studied a high-quality training program with enhanced French. This was a risky decision because at that time, she did not know any French words. "I knew that if I did not study French well, my overall academic results would be affected. However, I was determined to conquer this rather difficult language," Thu said. At the beginning of university, Thu encountered many difficulties: a strange environment, a completely new language for herself, and the Covid-19 pandemic, so she had to study online. In addition to learning knowledge, Thu thoroughly equipped herself with foreign languages from basic to advanced, and legal French to serve her subjects. With the attention of the lecturers and her own efforts, she completed the subjects taught in French well, and successfully defended her graduation thesis, also conducted in French, with a score of 9.75. “I think that, besides English, learning another language is also an interesting experience. This will help us measure our own limits and bring many opportunities in the context of integration” - Thu shared.

Thu also said that her learning experience was to preview the documents at home and focus on listening to lectures in class. In addition, she learned the method from former students of reviewing the content to grasp basic knowledge, then finding difficult problems. "Understanding the nature and explaining the cause of a legal problem is better than memorizing a law" - Thu affirmed. Currently, Anh Thu continues to improve her French to find opportunities for herself with a career in law. She also plans to continue her graduate studies and hopes to stay at the school to work. "I used to be very shy, just wanted to hide because there were many confident and enthusiastic friends around me. However, I then realized that I needed to change to get out of my comfort zone and become better every day. Up to now, I feel satisfied with what I have achieved during my recent studies" - the new valedictorian expressed.
