Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Hoang Hiep inspected a number of embankment projects.

Working with the delegation, on the side of Yen Bai province, there was comrade Nguyen The Phuoc - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

The project to prevent erosion of the Red River bank in Co Phuc town, Tran Yen district and Hop Minh ward, Yen Bai city has a total investment of 380 billion VND with a length of 5,248.21m and is divided into 2 routes, including: Co Phuc embankment route with a length of 3,950.78m and Hop Minh embankment route with a length of 1,297.43m, including the embankment top, embankment slope, embankment foot and works on the embankment. Up to now, the Hop Minh embankment project has completed the site clearance work.

The Co Phuc embankment project has approved compensation plans for 93/105 households whose land and assets on the land are affected and 86/97 households whose assets are on the river corridor.

The project consists of 2 construction packages (package 14 for Co Phuc embankment construction and package 15 for Hop Minh embankment construction) with a total contract value of over 242 billion VND. The estimated completed volume is 140 billion VND, equivalent to 58% of the contract value. During the construction of the embankment against landslides on the Red River bank in Co Phuc area, Tran Yen district and Hop Minh ward, Yen Bai city, due to unfavorable weather, heavy rain, and high water level of the Red River, the construction of embankment foot piles could not be carried out on site.

Along with that, the project was also affected by storm No. 3, burying the entire construction site. Currently, at package 14 - Co Phuc embankment, there are still some difficulties and problems in site clearance.

During a field inspection at the Co Phuc embankment, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Hoang Hiep requested Yen Bai province to continue directing the investor and construction units to increase human resources, construction machinery and equipment, and create a detailed construction progress chart to ensure overcoming the minor flood in 2025 and strive to ensure construction quality and complete the entire project before December 15, 2025.
