During her visit and work in Japan, on April 4, in Tokyo, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang, Chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, had a working session with the Association of Overseas Japanese and the Association of Vietnamese Enterprises in Japan.
Also attending the meetings was Ambassador of the Embassy of Vietnam in Japan Nguyen Duc Minh.
At the working session with the Association of Japanese People Abroad, Mr. Katsuyuki Janaka, Chairman of the association, thanked Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang and the delegation for visiting and working with the association.
He shared that there are currently 5 million Japanese people abroad, mostly third and fourth generation.
Every year, the association holds a convention to connect Japanese people around the world and discuss issues of government concern such as culture, politics , economics, etc.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang discussed the history of formation and the situation of the Vietnamese community abroad in general, the characteristics of the Vietnamese community in Japan in particular, as well as the great contributions of the Vietnamese community abroad in building the homeland.
The two sides shared experiences in promoting resources and intelligence of overseas Vietnamese communities to contribute to the country.
On the same day, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang visited and worked with the Vietnam Business Association in Japan.
Attending the reception were many Vietnamese enterprises in Japan such as Japan Apple, Aikai Group, Fuji Travel, Shin Toyo Gate Co. Ltd, Sakura Dream... and Japanese partners.
On behalf of the association, Ms. Tong Thi Kim Giao - President of the Association - introduced the association's activities after 11 years of establishment and development.
Currently, the Association has 8 clubs focusing on areas such as restaurants, food, real estate, mergers and acquisitions, tourism, import and export and business incubation.
Every year, the Association organizes many activities to connect domestic and foreign businesses.
Ms. Tong Thi Kim Giao expressed her emotion and joy when the Deputy Minister and the delegation visited and informed her about the Party and State's policies towards the Vietnamese community in Japan in general and towards Vietnamese enterprises abroad in particular.
Talking with businesses, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang highly appreciated the sense of responsibility and achievements of the business community here in connecting trade between Vietnam and Japan.
The Deputy Minister suggested that businesses promote their extensive experience and understanding of the market and preferences of Japanese people... to expand the market as well as connect businesses not only in Vietnam but also around the world; continue to actively participate in activities organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan and the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese to further promote the fields of investment, tourism and education.
The Deputy Minister was pleased with the solidarity and growth of the association, especially the association's volunteer work to help Japanese people affected by recent earthquakes, which left good impressions in the hearts of Japanese friends.
On the same day, in Tokyo, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu and the delegation visited HONTO TV - a media channel of the Vietnamese community in Japan.
Ms. Do Thi Minh Phuong - Editor-in-Chief of HONTO TV, said the channel was established in March 2022 and legally registered in Japan.
With the aim of creating a media channel with self-produced products about the Vietnamese community in Japan, HONTO TV has participated in organizing many cultural events such as Hoi An-Japan Festival, Cherry Blossom Festival, Hello Saitama... HONTO TV was honored to receive the 9th National Award for Foreign Information with a series of autobiographical reports "What are Vietnamese people in Japan doing?".
Ms. Do Thi Minh Phuong expressed her desire to cooperate with domestic press agencies to further spread good stories of Vietnamese people in Japan.
Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang highly appreciated HONTO TV's efforts in contributing to the Vietnamese community in Japan through useful content that brings many values to the community; congratulated HONTO TV on winning the Second Prize of the 9th National Award for External Information organized by the Central Propaganda Department.
Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang and the delegation proposed many ideas to overcome difficulties so that the channel can maximize its potential, and at the same time suggested opportunities for cooperation with domestic media channels.
Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu encouraged the media team to actively participate in more community activities, spreading objective, accurate and multi-dimensional information not only in the Vietnamese community but also to Japanese audiences.
The Ambassador also suggested that the delegation connect information between HONTO TV and domestic television channels and newspapers to create a global Vietnamese news network.
Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang and Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu affirmed that the HONTO TV model is a necessary and useful model for the community, and that efforts should continue to promote its role as an information hub in Japan./.
