Danish media quoted Prime Minister Frederiksen as saying: "Intelligence agencies in our defense alliance estimate that Russia is rearming so rapidly that it could be capable of attacking a NATO member state within a few years."

The Danish leader stressed the importance of NATO unity and investing in strong defenses against Russia's growing capabilities.

In its annual threat report, the Danish Defense Intelligence Agency also identified combined attacks and sabotage from Russia as key risks.

Prime Minister Frederiksen noted that modern society depends on electrification and technology, warning of weaknesses that need to be addressed to ensure stability.

According to Ms. Frederiksen, 2025 is a crucial year to strengthen Europe's defense capabilities, but not only through military investment but also by reducing dependence on adversaries.

The Danish prime minister has criticized Europe's past dependence on Russian fossil fuels, especially natural gas, saying it has paid a "very high price".

In addition, the Danish Prime Minister also emphasized Europe's dependence on Chinese technology, calling for more independence to strengthen Europe's resilience.
