Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh arrives in Brazil, begins official visit

At 11:50 a.m. on September 23 (local time), the plane carrying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation landed at Sao Paulo airport, Brazil, beginning an official visit to Brazil.

The official delegation accompanying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to visit Brazil includes: Minister of Public Security, General To Lam; Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son; Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung; Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien; Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc; Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung; Deputy Minister of National Defense Hoang Xuan Chien; Deputy Head of the Government Office Nguyen Xuan Thanh; Vietnamese Ambassador to Brazil Pham Thi Kim Hoa.

As planned, from September 23-26, the Prime Minister will have meetings and discussions with President Lula da Silva and other senior leaders of the host country, with political parties, social organizations, governments of several states, and the business community. These meetings will help the two sides further promote cooperation, deepen and make the Comprehensive Partnership more substantive and bring about more practical results.

This visit to Brazil by the head of the Vietnamese Government is of great significance to promoting bilateral cooperation in the future.

The visit takes place at a time when the two countries are looking forward to celebrating the 35th anniversary of Vietnam and Brazil establishing diplomatic relations in 2024. Therefore, the results of the visit will not only help to celebrate this milestone more practically but also guide the work of promoting bilateral cooperation to a new height in the coming time.

The visit is expected to open up cooperation opportunities for both sides in the fields of climate change response, new energy source development, digital transformation, ensuring energy and food security, regional integration and security, sustainable growth and equality in international relations, etc.

Speaking to the press ahead of the visit, Brazilian Ambassador to Vietnam Marco Farani affirmed that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's presence in this Latin American country "will bring the two countries closer together and open up opportunities for cooperation in many fields."
