Prime Minister returns to Hanoi, ending 8-day working trip to the US and Brazil

At noon on September 27, the plane carrying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation arrived at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi , successfully concluding the working trip to attend the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week, combining bilateral activities in the US and an official visit to Brazil, VNA reported.

During his 8 days in the US and Brazil, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a series of exciting and continuous activities with more than 70 activities in 5 cities (in the US, San Francisco, Washington DC, New York; in Brazil, Sao Paulo and Brasilia). Notably, there was a day when Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had up to 19 different activities.

Attending the High-Level Week of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Prime Minister spoke at the General Assembly's high-level debate and spoke at summits and high-level conferences of the United Nations on global and national issues such as climate change and pandemic response.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister had nearly 20 bilateral meetings with leaders of countries, international organizations and US politicians such as: Secretary General of the United Nations, President of the United Nations General Assembly, President of Cuba, Prime Minister of Thailand, President of Romania, President of Slovenia, President of Finland...

The working trip took place right after Vietnam and the US upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace, Security and Sustainable Development. Therefore, the Prime Minister had many activities to concretize and implement the agreements and commitments reached between the two countries' senior leaders.

In addition to meeting with US politicians and ministers and delivering policy speeches at universities, the Prime Minister visited and worked with many business associations, investment funds, and leading economic corporations in the US and the world such as Microsoft, Synopsys, Facebook, Apple, Google, Boeing, etc.

Meanwhile, during his official visit to Brazil, along with talks with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, the Prime Minister also met with leaders of several Brazilian political parties and friendship organizations; delivered policy speeches at the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs; held talks with businesses and visited leading Brazilian businesses such as Embraer Aerospace Corporation.

In particular, despite having a busy work schedule, both in the US and Brazil, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh took time to meet overseas Vietnamese here and meet beloved American and Brazilian friends who have made many contributions to the Vietnam - US and Vietnam - Brazil relations, thereby contributing to strengthening the homeland's affection for overseas Vietnamese and solidarity with American and Brazilian friends; mobilizing strength for Vietnam's development and fostering Vietnam's relations with other countries.

The working trip of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation to attend the High-Level Week of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, combined with bilateral activities in the US and an official visit to Brazil, was a great success, achieving all goals and tasks at a high level, practically implementing the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress.
