Due to prolonged heavy rain, on the night of November 16, at Khanh Le Pass in Nam Vinh Khanh Commune, Khanh Hoa Province, a serious landslide occurred, burying and deforming a passenger bus. The incident caused particularly serious consequences, with 6 people killed and 19 injured.
On November 17, the Prime Minister sent his condolences to the families of the victims, especially those whose loved ones did not survive. Meanwhile, according to the forecast of the National Hydrometeorological Agency, from now until the end of November 18, the Central region, including Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong , will continue to have heavy to very heavy rain, the risk of landslides on mountain passes and slopes remains very high.

Faced with this situation, the Prime Minister requested the Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee to preside over and coordinate with relevant forces and localities to focus on quickly overcoming the consequences of the landslide; at the same time, strictly implement measures to prevent and respond to floods according to Official Dispatch 217/CD-TTg dated November 16, 2025. The province needs to urgently mobilize forces and equipment for rescue in the fastest and most timely manner, ensuring absolute safety for the task force.
The Prime Minister requested close coordination with the authorities where the victims reside to visit, encourage and support the families of the deceased in identifying, handing over and bringing the victims home to arrange funerals according to their wishes. Medical facilities must organize free treatment for the injured, creating conditions for them to soon stabilize their health and spirit. The implementation of the State's support policies and regimes for the victims must be deployed promptly and in accordance with regulations.
Along with overcoming the consequences, the Prime Minister requested to clarify the cause of the incident, especially the compliance with instructions on ensuring traffic safety and responding to floods. Violations (if any) must be strictly handled to learn from experience and avoid repeating similar incidents.

At the same time, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security to direct units located in the area to mobilize maximum forces and means to support localities in overcoming the consequences of landslides, and at the same time advise Party committees and authorities in disaster response and rescue work.
The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Health to coordinate with Khanh Hoa province to mobilize medical staff and direct medical facilities to continue providing free treatment to the injured under the best conditions.
The Ministry of Construction is required to review, inspect and promptly warn of areas at risk of landslides on traffic routes; deploy safety measures, especially during complicated times of rain and floods, to limit unfortunate incidents and accidents.
The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to direct the monitoring, forecasting, and providing the most complete, timely, and accurate information on the developments of rain, floods, and risks of flooding and landslides so that authorities and people can proactively prevent, avoid, and respond.
The Office of the National Civil Defense Steering Committee is assigned to closely monitor the situation, proactively coordinate and mobilize forces and means to support localities in overcoming the above-mentioned landslide incident and respond to floods according to assigned functions and tasks.
