Central provinces continue to have heavy rain, floods on rivers are rising

It is forecasted that from early morning on November 18 until the end of the same night, the Central provinces will continue to have heavy rain with rainfall of hundreds of mm.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the area from Hue City to Da Nang City, the eastern part of the provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak will still have heavy to very heavy rain, commonly 150-300mm, locally over 500mm.

Southern Quang Tri and Khanh Hoa provinces have widespread rain of 100-200mm, in some places over 350mm. Ha Tinh and northern Quang Tri have moderate to heavy rain, widespread 50-100mm, locally over 200mm.

Due to heavy rain all day and night, the flood on Bo River ( Hue City) and Vu Gia - Thu Bon River (Da Nang City) has exceeded alert level 3. The flood on Thu Bon River, Kon River and Krong Ana River is still rising. The flood on Bo River and Vu Gia River is fluctuating at high level above alert level 3; on Huong River is fluctuating above alert level 2; on Tra Khuc River and downstream of Ba River is decreasing.

Rain forecast from November 18-19, Da Nang city, the east of Quang Ngai to Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa will have moderate to heavy rain, generally 100-200mm, locally over 350mm. Hue city will have moderate to heavy rain, generally 40-80mm, locally over 150mm. The risk of heavy rain over 200mm within 3 hours and flooding on rivers remains high, people need to be vigilant and follow information from authorities.
