Attending the workshop were Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province Huynh Quoc Viet; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Vu Thang along with leading aquaculture experts, scientists , businesses, international organizations and representatives of localities and crab farmers in the province.

At the workshop, experts from many countries (Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines) with experience in developing the crustacean industry shared research results and effective production models; focusing on major topics: Seed production - conservation of sea crab resources; mud crab farming; application of technology in management and traceability.
Experts and researchers also assessed the current status of the crab industry in Vietnam; orientation for capacity building in crab farming; management of agricultural innovation systems towards sustainable impact; and introduced tools and projects that contribute to balancing State management - innovation and sustainable development.

Ngoài ra, các đại biểu còn trao đổi về nâng cao chuỗi giá trị cua biển bền vững với những giải pháp kiểm soát dịch bệnh, nâng cao chất lượng con giống, đảm bảo tính an toàn và đa dạng sinh học, cũng như định hướng xuất khẩu cua Cà Mau vào các thị trường lớn. Qua đó, đề xuất các giải pháp tăng thị phần, chế biến, bảo quản và gia tăng giá trị sản phẩm cua hướng đến mục tiêu nâng cao giá trị ngành hàng và phát triển thương hiệu “Cua Cà Mau”, đưa cua biển Cà Mau trở thành ngành kinh tế mũi nhọn, phát triển theo hướng xanh và bền vững.
Speaking at the workshop, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Vu Thang emphasized: Ca Mau crab is considered the most delicious and highest quality crab in Vietnam; it is the province's main product with a total value of more than 10,000 billion VND/year. The scale of combined crab farming area, intercropping in shrimp ponds is about 365,000 hectares; semi-intensive crab farming is about 200 hectares; crab farming in boxes is about 3,000 boxes; the annual output is estimated at about 31,300 tons. Ca Mau province aims to increase the total crab output to about 36,500 tons by 2030, striving to export and develop a consumption chain linking the crab industry to reach 30% or more of the output.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Vu Thang affirmed: Ca Mau Province will create a policy environment, infrastructure and mechanism for close coordination with ministries, branches, institutes, schools and international partners to receive professional and academic recommendations from the workshop, transforming them into specific programs, action plans and support policies to improve the quality, efficiency and added value of Ca Mau crab products.
