Prime Minister requests strict handling of violations in boiler explosion that killed 6 people

On May 1, the Government Office announced that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had just signed and issued Official Dispatch No. 42/CD-TTg on the boiler explosion at Binh Minh Wood Production and Trading Company Limited in Vam Hamlet, Thien Tan Commune, Vinh Cuu District, Dong Nai Province.

According to information from the People's Committee of Dong Nai province, at around 8:30 a.m. on May 1, 2024, a particularly serious work accident occurred at Binh Minh Wood Production and Trading Company Limited in Vam Hamlet, Thien Tan Commune, Vinh Cuu District, Dong Nai Province, killing 6 people and injuring many others.

Upon receiving information about the accident, the Prime Minister sent his warmest regards and deepest condolences to the families and relatives of the victims; at the same time, requested the leaders of Dong Nai province to directly go to the scene to direct the handling of the consequences and visit the families of the victims in the accident.

To promptly overcome the consequences and take measures to prevent similar accidents, the Prime Minister requested:

The Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee urgently organized thoughtful visits, promptly supported and encouraged the families and completed procedures related to the deceased victims; visited, encouraged, supported and made the highest efforts to treat the injured victims.

At the same time, direct functional forces to urgently clarify the cause, overcome the consequences, stabilize production, investigate, clarify the responsibilities of related organizations and individuals, and strictly handle violations according to the law (if any).

The Ministry of Public Security directed Dong Nai Provincial Police to coordinate with relevant agencies to urgently investigate and clarify the cause of the accident, and strictly handle violations according to the law (if any).

The Ministry of Industry and Trade coordinates with the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities and relevant units to direct enterprises to carefully review regulations, standards, industrial production processes, and boiler operations, promptly overcome shortcomings and limitations, and ensure absolute safety for workers.

Chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and cities direct to strengthen inspection and examination work, promptly detect and strictly handle violations of labor safety regulations in industrial production activities in the area, absolutely not allowing similar cases to happen.

The Minister of Information and Communications and press and media agencies shall further strengthen the dissemination and guidance of regulations on occupational safety and hygiene in all fields.
