On May 27, Mr. Dinh Hoang Linh, Consul General of Vietnam, had a meeting with Ms. Liu Hongmei, Consul General of China in Khon Kaen, Thailand.
Congratulating Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh on his official appointment, Consul General Liu Hongmei expressed his belief that the Consul General will play an active role in promoting cooperation between the two Consulates General, contributing to further strengthening the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between China and Vietnam.
Consul General Liu Hongmei looks forward to strengthening cooperation between the two Consulates General in areas such as consular work, cultural exchanges,education , local connections and business support.
In the near future, the Chinese Consulate General will jointly organize the China-Laos-Thailand High-Speed Railway Connectivity Seminar in August 2025, which is expected to be attended by more than 200 delegates from the three countries. The seminar aims to promote regional connectivity, boost logistics cooperation, investment and tourism along the regional corridor.
Consul General Liu Hongmei respectfully invites and hopes that Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh will attend and contribute to the success of the event.

Speaking at the meeting, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh emphasized that Vietnam and China are two close neighbors with a good traditional friendship that was nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh and Chairman Mao Zedong and generations of leaders of the two countries. On that foundation, the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership has been increasingly consolidated and developed strongly, substantially and effectively, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries.
Mr. Dinh Hoang Linh affirmed that he will strive to further promote the cooperative relationship between the two Consulates General in areas of mutual interest, and expressed his desire to coordinate in organizing cultural and people-to-people exchange activities in the locality during the year commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations (January 18, 1950 - January 18, 2025).
Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh also proposed that both sides actively exchange and share information to further enhance understanding and political trust to effectively coordinate all aspects of work in the area, contributing positively to the new and increasingly better development stage between the two countries.
Appreciating the initiative to organize the Regional Transport Connectivity Workshop of the Chinese Consulate General and expressing his goodwill to attend and coordinate to promote cooperation between the economic corridors of the Greater Mekong Sub-region, including potential connections with the northern and central provinces of Vietnam, Mr. Dinh Hoang Linh affirmed that the Vietnamese Consulate General is ready to coordinate to promote mutually beneficial initiatives for countries in the region.
The Vietnamese Consul General would like to express his gratitude to Chinese Deputy Consul General Yang Ning for visiting and signing the condolence book in memory of former Politburo member and former President Tran Duc Luong on the morning of May 24, the first day of the memorial service, demonstrating the respect and close relationship between the two Parties, two States and peoples of the two countries.

On this occasion, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh presented Consul General Liu Hongmei with the bilingual book "Uncle Ho in Thailand" which was recently published and launched in Thailand.
Consul General Liu Hongmei expressed her gratitude and said that she especially respected President Ho Chi Minh, the great leader of the Vietnamese people.
The meeting took place in a sincere, friendly and constructive atmosphere, marking a favorable start for a period of increasingly enhanced cooperation between the two Consulates General, together aiming at the goal of sustainable development for peace, stability and cooperation in the region.
