Promoting the "3-house" model to develop the semiconductor industry in Vietnam

This morning (March 28), in Hanoi, the National Innovation Center ( Ministry of Finance ), FPT Semiconductor Company, FPT Corporation, and technology partners held the opening ceremony of the Semiconductor Incubation and Development Center (VSIC) and the FPT-ALCHIP Semiconductor Startup Incubation Space.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Tam said that VSIC and FPT-ALCHIP Semiconductor Startup Incubation Space not only meet the requirements of being a space to support and connect Vietnamese startups in the semiconductor field, but also a place for universities, research institutes, domestic and foreign enterprises to cooperate to develop human resources to supply the semiconductor industry in the coming time.

Mr. Vu Quoc Huy, Director of NIC, also said that this event marks another important step forward in realizing the Party and State's policies and orientations on breakthroughs in science , technology and innovation development.

In particular, promoting public-private cooperation, the "3-house" model: State - school - enterprise" to develop the semiconductor industry in Vietnam, contributing to realizing the goal of training 50,000 semiconductor engineers in Vietnam by 2025 and having 100 chip design enterprises.

On the FPT Corporation side, Mr. Tran Dang Hoa, Chairman of FPT IS and Chairman of FPT Semiconductor, informed that the establishment of VSIC is not only an important milestone for the semiconductor industry, but also demonstrates FPT's strong commitment to incubating and developing semiconductor businesses, technology, and talent and enhancing Vietnam's competitiveness on the global semiconductor map.

Through this activity, FPT will focus on developing high-quality human resources, helping Vietnam become one of the region's dynamic and innovative semiconductor centers; at the same time, promoting the semiconductor ecosystem in Vietnam. From there, making Vietnam an attractive destination for the semiconductor industry.

Appreciating the effective cooperation between NIC, FPT and partners in developing the semiconductor industry ecosystem, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Tam said that close cooperation between the public and private sectors will create an ecosystem and develop sustainable human resources, helping Vietnam not only catch up but also gradually progress and rise in global technology trends.

“The Ministry of Finance is committed to always accompanying businesses and domestic and foreign partners to promote the development of the semiconductor industry in Vietnam,” Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Tam emphasized.
