In recent years, Ha Nam province has implemented many synchronous solutions to promote the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods". In particular, the focus is on supporting enterprises, cooperatives, and production households to promote trade, advertise, and consume products through fairs, exhibitions, and supply-demand connection conferences to connect domestic production enterprises with distributors and consumers, bringing regional specialties to the people.

Life is increasingly developing, the demand for sightseeing, tourism as well as enjoying cuisine of the people is improving. In addition to the province's specialties, people also want to use clean, safe agricultural products, specialties of localities across the country. Accordingly, in recent times, the Department of Industry and Trade has actively coordinated with relevant units to synthesize and update the requirements for products and goods of distribution enterprises, supermarkets, and commercial centers to inform production and supply units in and outside the province; organize training, instruct businesses and production households on online sales skills, promote and sell on e-commerce platforms. In addition, every year, the Department of Industry and Trade also organizes many trade promotion programs, linking supply and demand of products with provinces and cities to help businesses promote production, business activities, and two-way exchange of goods. At many supply-demand connection conferences, Ha Nam distribution enterprises signed memorandums of understanding on cooperation in consuming OCOP products and specialty products of provinces and cities: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Kon Tum, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa...

Mr. Le Minh Ngoc, Head of Trade Management Department, Department of Industry and Trade said: In order to promote the implementation of the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods", to better meet the people's demand for clean and safe products, in recent times, the Department of Industry and Trade has paid special attention to supporting businesses in provinces and cities to work directly with the distribution system in Ha Nam to introduce and bring products into the province's large distribution systems such as: GO! Ha Nam supermarket, Lan Chi supermarket system, Winmart+... At these supermarkets, specialty products of localities and regions are trusted by consumers and highly appreciated for their quality.

Customers choose to buy clean agricultural products and regional specialties at GO! Ha Nam supermarket.

For example, at GO! Ha Nam supermarket, Lam Ha ward (Phu Ly city), clearly recognizing the demand of consumers for typical products and specialties of Ha Nam and other regions, right from the time of investing in infrastructure construction, GO! had many working sessions with the Department of Industry and Trade of Ha Nam, enterprises and cooperatives in the province and neighboring provinces to grasp the production and supply situation of enterprises. At the same time, signed a commitment to consume specialty products with enterprises and cooperatives inside and outside the province at conferences connecting supply and demand of Vietnamese goods organized by functional agencies. Up to now, the supermarket has distributed and consumed hundreds of OCOP products and specialty products of Ha Nam and other regions across the country such as: vermicelli, pho, moringa noodles, yogurt, Moc Bac Milk pasteurized fresh milk (Ha Nam); shrimp paste (Thanh Hoa); rice paper, chili salt (Tay Ninh); rice paper with honey (Ha Tinh); Chinese sausage (Soc Trang); shrimp paste (Kien Giang); shrimp paste (Hue); rice noodles, pho (Dong Thap); black garlic vermicelli (Thai Nguyen); fish sauce, black pepper (Phu Quoc); grilled spring rolls (Nha Trang); cashew nuts (Long An); cellophane noodles ( Cao Bang )...

In particular, at GO! Ha Nam, consumers can easily find and buy clean vegetables, tubers, and fruits that are VietGAP products, OCOP products of provinces and cities. These include: royal bananas (Ha Nam); spinach (Da Lat); cabbage, yellow-heart oranges (Son La); grapefruit, tangerines (Vinh Long); green-skinned pink grapefruit (Ben Tre); melon (Gia Lai); white melon, yellow-fleshed watermelon (Tien Giang); yellow cat chu mango (Dong Thap); keo mango (Khanh Hoa); coc cay, seedless watermelon (Can Tho); avocado (Lam Dong)... Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hang, Director of GO! Ha Nam supermarket, said: With increasingly better economic conditions, consumers have a need to enjoy specialties of localities and regions (from spices to food, vegetables, tubers, and fruits). Therefore, GO! always prioritizes the import and sale of these items, especially during the Lunar New Year when people's consumption demand increases. To facilitate customers in searching, the supermarket arranges booths to display regional specialties in separate areas, including: spice booths, dried goods; processed foods; vegetables, tubers, fruits of all kinds...

Every year, the Department of Industry and Trade also organizes many trade promotion programs, linking supply and demand for product consumption with provinces and cities to help businesses promote production, business activities, and two-way exchange of goods. At many supply and demand connection conferences, Ha Nam's distribution enterprises signed memorandums of understanding on cooperation in consuming OCOP products and specialty products of provinces and cities: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Kon Tum, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa, etc.

Similarly, the survey shows that in supermarkets and convenience stores in the province, OCOP products and local and regional specialties are increasingly accounting for a high proportion of the goods sold. According to the reflection of distribution units, if in the past, consumers were mostly only interested in the price of goods, in recent years, as the quality of life has improved, consumers tend to "eat well, eat clean rather than eat cheaply". That is the reason why clean agricultural products and regional specialties are increasingly sold in retail channels.

In fact, in addition to traditional retail channels, many people have taken advantage of online sales methods to trade regional and local specialties on social networking platforms and e-commerce platforms. Ms. Trinh Thi Thao, Group 4, Le Hong Phong Ward (Phu Ly City) - an administrative staff at a business in Phu Ly City said: Grasping the trend of consuming clean products, typical of regions, for about 2 years now, I have boldly imported and sold online a number of famous products, OCOP products of businesses and cooperatives across the country, mainly through social networks Zalo, Facebook, TikTok. After office hours, my husband and I take turns delivering goods to customers. Among the products for sale, customers really love specialty agricultural products of the Northwest, Central Highlands, OCOP products of localities such as vermicelli, dried bamboo shoots, wood ear mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, bird's nests, wine, raisins, dried meat of all kinds...

With a variety of product groups and guaranteed quality, local and regional specialty products are very popular with consumers. The proactive measures to promote trade and consumption of agricultural products and regional specialty products in the province have contributed to creating a strong change in consumer awareness in prioritizing the choice and use of goods produced by domestic enterprises, creating sustainable output for agricultural products and local specialty products.
