It is known that the pregnant woman NTT (25 years old, Kim Hy commune, Na Ri district, Bac Kan ) was hospitalized to give birth at 36 weeks and 4 days pregnant.

Ultrasound images showed that the pregnant woman was carrying triplets, so to ensure the safety of both mother and baby, doctors at Department of Obstetrics 1 ( Phu Tho Province Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital) ordered a cesarean section.

The cesarean section for the mother giving birth to triplets was safe and successful.

All three babies were born healthy. Their weight was 2kg, 2.1kg and 1.9kg respectively.

This is the mother's first pregnancy. Ms. T. got pregnant naturally. During her pregnancy, her health was stable.

Previously, the pregnant woman was prescribed cervical cerclage by doctors at Department of Obstetrics 2 at the appropriate gestational week to maintain the pregnancy and was advised to inject lung maturation into the fetus.

MSc. Dr. Hoang Thi Chung, Head of Obstetrics Department 1, Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, said that this is an extremely rare case of triplets because the mother naturally carried 3 fetuses, 1 baby from a different egg and 2 babies from the same egg. The rate of this case is extremely low, about 1/200,000 births.

From this rare case, Dr. Chung recommends that pregnant women with multiple pregnancies should pay attention to their nutritional regimen because the nutritional needs of the fetus double or triple... Pregnant women need to provide more nutrients to reduce the risk of malnutrition for the newborn later. Adequate rest, need to rest a lot, relax, avoid overwork to limit the risk of pregnancy complications.

In particular, it is necessary to closely monitor pregnancy, have regular check-ups at specialized obstetric facilities, and have ultrasounds on schedule to help doctors detect fetal abnormalities early. At the same time, early detection of possible obstetric complications is necessary for timely intervention.
