Accordingly, Tri An reservoir increased the water discharge through the spillway from 160 m3/s to 320 m3/s (at 7:00 a.m. on November 9) and continued to adjust the spillway discharge to 480 m3/s (at 2:00 p.m. on the same day, November 9).
After two adjustments to increase flood discharge, the total water discharge downstream through the turbine and spillway is 1,230 m3/s to 1,280 m3/s.
According to parameters measured at 2:00 p.m. on November 9, the water flow from upstream to Tri An Lake reached 1,310 m3/s, the lake water level reached 61.83 m.
Depending on weather developments and water flow into the lake, reservoir water level, and downstream water level of Dong Nai River, Tri An Hydropower Company can change the water flow released through the spillway.
According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, in addition to Tri An Hydropower Plant, there are currently 3 other hydropower plants in Dong Nai province that are also discharging floodwater to regulate the reservoir, including: Thac Mo Hydropower Plant discharging water through the spillway with a flow rate of 169 m3/s; Can Don Hydropower Plant 276 m3/s; Srok Phu Mieng Hydropower Plant 196 m3/s.
According to the November 9 bulletin of the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, the high tide on the Dong Nai River system is rapidly receding. The water level measured on November 9 at Bien Hoa station has fallen below alert level I; the water level at most stations upstream of the Dong Nai River will decline in the next 2 days.
