Tri An Hydropower Plant continues to increase water discharge to regulate downstream

On the afternoon of November 20, Tri An Hydropower Company (Dong Nai province) continued to announce that the amount of water released through the spillway to the downstream area could increase to 1,400 m3/s.

Specifically, from 1:00 p.m. the same day, the water flow through the spillway was adjusted to increase from 640 to 800m3 /s; the water flow through the turbine was increased from 340-600m3 /s, increasing the total water flow downstream to more than 1,100-1,400m3 /s.

Then, depending on the weather, water flow into the lake, water level of Tri An Hydropower Reservoir, water level downstream of Bien Hoa Hydrological Station, the company can flexibly regulate the water flow through the spillway. People need to have solutions to prevent possible flooding.

Previously, Tri An Hydropower Company also announced an increase in the amount of water released through the spillway from 2:00 p.m. on November 19, with the amount of water released through the spillway adjusted from 480 m3 /s to 640 m3 /s; the water flow through the power generation turbine from 340 m3 /s to 600 m3 /s (corresponding to a capacity of 180 MW to 300 MW depending on the mobilization method of the National Dispatch Center (NSMO), the total amount of water released downstream is the highest at 1,240 m3 /s.
